Not bad for price,

I used this to mount UTG Bug Buster 3-9X32 Compact CQB Combat AO Scope on a flat top AR. The 2 worked well together. Mount puts scope at a good height. I can look threw scope with my front sight not being in the way. Everything locked up very tight and feels sturdy. I like the way the mount looks. The finish isn't perfect, somewhat uneven, but ARs aren't really pretty guns so I didn't care.
The mount came without any instructions but it wasn't very hard to figure out. When I was adjusting and tightening the screw which sets how tight the lever locks the mount the head of the screw started to get deformed and seemed a little soft. This didn't cause a problem and I just guess I should have been gentler. Release lever does work good and although the unit wasn't perfect comparable mounts coast over $100 so I am happy with it.

The quick release lever on this mount is exactly what I wanted. However, for the application I am using it in, the scope sits much higher than necesary. A half inch lower and it would be perfect in every aspect.

I heard from a previous M&P15 owner that this did not fasten to his flat top properly, and I had the same problem. It will not fasten straight or flush or even sinch up tight, therefore it is useless for my application.
As for scope placement, it is great. I had a previous mount that placed the scope low and my stock A2 front sight was obstructing too much of the image. This mount however places my 3-9x40 Redfield almost dead center with my front sight post and "felt" great. I am disappointed that I wont be able to use this. If there was a similar mount without the quick release I would have chosen that one. Good luck to future buyers, unfortunately I will be returning this product.

NCSTAR Cantilver Scope Mount,

I was looking for a quick disconnect scope mount and found it... and it was inexpensive (unlike several others I looked at). I'm not concerned with 1 moa groups at 200 yards so the slight variation in grouping I've seen so far that might be caused by mounting and removing the scope several times is not an issue to me. I realize it probably isn't the ideal scope mount for everyone, but it is for me.

First off after I got the scope and installed on my AR and found rear scope mount ring cap was miss machined and due to the flaw I was unable to tighten the rear scope mount, I contacted NCstar to get the part replaced and found their costomer support is a joke, after two weeks of dealing with them I got sick of it and had amazon replace the whole mount amazon is awsome, no crap they sent me another scope mount quikly ). The mount installs and adjusts easy to the rail but after comming off and on a couple of times it started to fit loose and needed to be readjusted wich ment the riffle needed to be zeroed agian and to test if the mount would hold zero I zeroed my scope@100yrd I removed and reinstalled it while at the range and it got me on the paper but the scope had to be readjusted I couldnt have hit a bottle@100yrd after reinstalling it with out adjusting back to zero first. Then the pin that locates the scope on the rail came loose and fell out luckfully into my case as I was putting my gun away and not into the grass where I would have lost it and it only seen about 130 rounds. The scope mount is this cheap for a reason if you want accuracy and dont want to waste amo or miss an important shot spend the money on a quality mount.

This thing does what they say; what more can you ask? LOL It adjusted easily in less than a minute (already had my tools out) and locks nice and solid to the rifle. Lever force is suprisingly light, while clamping force is entirely adequate. What I like the most is that the scope comes off in seconds with this mount. Seriously, you can hold the rifle in one hand and remove the scope with the other hand in 6 seconds... without hurrying. My irons flip up quick and easy too, so the transition is very fast from scoped to irons or back again. When you consider the price, it's a Great deal!
If I could have it exactly my way I'd like it if the mount was a little lighter. It's aluminum except for the clamping works, but is built like a tank. I'd be happier with a lighter model that was a little less bullet-proof, but that's not a bad thing, just a different direction.

I have been using this mount for almost a year now on a AR-15 rifle, i have to say, i am surprised that it still works!!!
1. It worked very well, held zero once locked down 2. throw lever is easy to operate, once adjustment were made with the tightness of the mount. 3. quality is fine, nothing to report so far cons 1, the 1" inch ring insert does not work well, had a difficult get a "1 inch tube scope mounted I give it 4 stars, due to the "1 inch ring insert, otherwise it is a good mount.

Ordered this item and mounted a Redfield scope on a brand new Rock River AR. It took me a month to actually get to the range to try it out and apparently missed the return window on this product by 10 days. Mounting the product is simple, but the alignment of the scope rings to the rail is not parallel. I adjusted the windage on my scope as far as it could go and still missed right about 1 1/2" at 50 yards. I will say that the quick release mechanism did hold the scope securely thru about 30 rounds(dont know what it would doi after 200). Visually the scope looks to be pointing to the right and not centered on the rifles barrel. So I reversed the scope in the mount, and it shot left about 1 1/2" at 50 yards. I checked for any metal burrs on both the mount and rail and could not find any. I believe the scope ring is slightly off. I wanted the Quick Release so I could use my iron sights with little hassle, but if the product cant align your scope to the barrel, it doesnt work.

This device has all the features one would want in it. First, yes it has a cross slot bump that engages the slots in a pic rail to keep it from shifting should the clamp loosen it's grip. Second, the clamp lever has a tension adjustment screw and lock nut to allow for the variances in tolerances of rail dimensions. Third it has an adjustable ring on one end to allow for different scope lengths. The clamp jaw is full length so it gets a good purchase on the rail. Last, the 30mm to 1" adapters are metal not rubber. I mounted this up on my flat top AR and was very pleased how well it's made and functions. It really has no drawbacks that I could find immediately that made me think anything should be made differently.
