Newbie Weavers/Experienced Weavers/Crafters Who Just Want To Learn...,

This review is from: Weaving: A Creative Approach for Beginners (Paperback)
This book, Weaving: A Creative Approach for Beginners, is a fantastic starting off place for any crafter who is even just thinking about weaving.
It takes you from the basics of easy looms that can be made at home with simple items, all the way through to information about table looms, tapestry looms, lap looms and those very large floor looms and what it takes to decide which one that you would really enjoy using. Clara Creager, is a very knowledgeable weaver, and through this book she shares her wealth of weaving knowledge. This book though an an older weaving guide written originally in 1974 has ideas and weaving strategies in it are timeless. This is still a fantastic reference source for anyone thinking of using weaving in any way for 2010 and further. She has imparted, in a step by step way, all you need to know for your journey into weaving starting as a beginner. This is a great resource for people who not only want to learn how to weave, about weaving from it's starts, but also a resource that would work well in a class room setting for young people and older who have an interest in weaving at any levels. I would recommend this book to anyone who was starting to learn to weave as a great back up source. I also have and will recommend this book to other people like me who would like to start weaving but don't know where the "jumping off" place is, especially if you do not own a loom, or any other weaving equipment. I actually read this whole book-yes I know a "resource" book-not a novel, and cover to cover, "pound for pound" and page by page it's the Best weaving book I've read so far, and I have about 11 other weaving books. I will definitely be scouring Amazon for other books by Clara Creager
