Web Animation For Dummies,

This is a great book for first time web animators. Writing style is straightforward and easy to understand. The basic concepts of web animation are well presented with example illustrations. Some demo programs are provided. If you have already purchased an animation program make sure the book addresses that product but you still may want to buy the book for the concepts presented. Experienced animators will find this book too basic.

I got this book and was disappointed. Not because the book is bad (or at least, not because it was bad for the time when it was published) but because it is so out of date.
It was published in 1997, when the state of the art was animated GIFs, which is pretty much what this book tells you how to do. But today, we're way beyond that. And I think that many of the tools that the book mentions are no longer available. So I would recommend that you try to find some more recent book on the topic. I find it hard to believe that this book is still useful to anyone. After a quick browse, I threw my copy in the trash. |
