Worth a look...,

Actually this was done with Terre Thalmiltz , before Terre went into his noise phase. It is a relaxing CD and fans of Laswell will recognise his style and the quality he puts into his work. No dub, just soundscape.

Using just a few concrete sounds and ambient textures a whole world of calling and calming is built. Maybe that's how one feels in the web - anxiety and serenity, one after another.

Three tracks. Sparse landscape. Complex textures.Terre Thaemlitz and Bill Laswell keep their artistry at a minimum to create maximum soundscapes that clock nearly 50 minutes. Each track - Open URL (16:13), Insectoidal Regression (16:04), Transfer Complete (17:35) - glide majestically, like a sailboat on a pristine lake during a sunny and cloudless summer day, but have intricate structures that may be dismissed through superficial listening. This ambient music makes for a web gem.

I've been listening to Web steadily since its release. It is pure soundscape and puts your mind in another place. It is slow, creeping and at times disturbing. If you like listening to music alone at night laying on the floor, staring into space ... try web.

My English does not help to characterise this CD. It is on the cutting edge. Not an easy listening for those who do not like experimenting. Then again for guys like me, who like listening such music, it is definately a good buy.

This album could put an insomniac to sleep...In all fairness, this is an album that enables one to truly "chill." Honestly, I felt as though I had to check my pulse after listening to just 30 seconds of the album. This album is ideal to listen to after a difficult day at work etc., just don't listen to it while driving...Bill Laswell has a number of albums that I would recommend much more highly. These albums are: Radioaxiom "A Dub Transmission", Silent Recoil, and Sacred System.
