5.0 out of 5 stars Web design not page design, May 29, 2000
This review is from: Web Concept & Design (Paperback)
You will see in one of the reviews that someone says that "Siegel's book is better". I strongly disagree. Siegel wrote a book called "Creating Killer Web Sites", which was concerned principally with the details of creating great web pages. WC&D contains very little of the technical details of how to create web pages (you can pick those details straight off the web and they will be more up to date than any book) but instead the author teaches how to create a web site that does something. She tells you how to focus on your audience and concentrate on serving them, rather than focussing on your own creative needs and serving yourself. I read the book and found that my site hits went from a couple of hundred to 12,000 a day. IMHO this book is a classic of web design, and unlike the many huge books on HTML tag usage, it will not go out of date.

5.0 out of 5 stars For me this book is an excellent introduction to Web Design, February 13, 2001
This review is from: Web Concept & Design (Paperback)
After reading Jakob Nielson book I literally searched for all his recommendations of must reads. Dynamic Concept & Design is one of them. After reading the first page I knew this was a prized possesion. I work within Information Systems and this is my next step in my evolution of this career. After atttending school what seems like my whole life I personally welcome the traditional, non-traditional approach to learning about Web concepts and design. If anyone can find a copy of this book I recommend it as a permanant reference and introduction source. Wondering if she is going to publish another edition of this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent guide to building sites that work, June 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Web Concept & Design (Paperback)
From the wild variation in star ratings, I was initially reluctant to make such an expensive purchase. But I have found this book to be an investment; a clear guide to what works on the web and why. Most refreshingly, it lacks the condescending tone of other books in the genre.
