if you like web design index or other screenshot collection books, you'll like this one. this time, the designs featured are not from random amateurs, but from almost 100 cool web design firms around the world.

a top-quality taschen design book, in a cheap small efficient package. no instructions or theories? of course, it's just another inspiration book. but what could go wrong with $10?

This book will more than likely get a lot of mixed reviews. Some will find it positive for its visual content and others negative because it does not tell you how to achieve the look of some of the great sites featured. I personally love to view good design. This book showcases some of the best sites out there. Use this as a visual guide and create some sweet stuff on your own. Besides, when you think of "Taschen" you should always keep in mind that this book will be a coffee table style book. Not a tutorial book.

There is an incredible amount of color and detail put into this book for the $10 price tag.

I've found this to be great inspiration to thumb through before I start a project. A wide range of styles and methods are represented, and the design studio data is very interesting.

Most importantly, it is modern and up to date.

I wouldn't go out of my way to snag a copy, but it's a no brainer to pick up if you come across it in a bookstore.

Coonsidering the price, scope, and presentation, this book easily gets 5 stars.

It's definitely inspirational to see such great designs. The only fault is that they are almost all Flash designs. I am mostly interested in ways people put navigation and content on a page using HTML (or a variant) and all these are almost complete Flash pages. Very accessibility-not-friendly. But as I said, they look good.

When you're at a block and need to see some high quality work of a large variety for inspiration, open this book and let the ideas come.

This is just a flipbook of websites, along with the names of the studios that designed them. There's no additional commentary or analysis. You could Google "web design studios" to find many of the same sites (and better ones), in all their glorious detail and interactivity.

Now, I'm not saying this book is the "end all" or anything like that. I'm just saying that if your looking for something to pick up here 'n there while looking for inspiration, this book is pretty good. Def worth the price.

Great book and a nice compact format. Not a lot of text but visuals are why you would buy this book.
