Book Description

May 1998
Her sister's unexpected death draws Morgan Carruthers into the lives of her widowed brother-in-law, Troy Woodsen, and his two children. In her attempt to bring comfort to the grieving family, however, she stumbles onto a tapestry of suspicion surrounding Beth's death.

When police confirm that the death was not an accident, Morgan's own investigation draws her to the Internet and the unknown forces lurking there. But Morgan soon finds that the sinister powers that tormented Beth have now begun to target her.

Troy and Morgan discover they must draw together to face the frightening presence that has invaded the peace they yearn to capture. Can their determination succeed - or will the very livelihood of their family be sacrificed?

Susan Taggart's career as screenwriter displays her talent for creating drama and suspense a talent she now brings to her first novel. Web of Intrigue is a gripping story that reveals the powerful snare of technology's misuse and the ultimate reward for the pursuit of truth.

Editorial Reviews

About the Author

"I always knew I was a writer, and I never thought, for one moment, that it wouldn't happen," she says Susan Taggart. Born into a Southern Baptist family in Palestine, Texas, Taggart was a writer almost from the start. Even when circumstances seemed impossible, she never gave up hope.

After moving to Los Angeles with three children, she became friends with William Hanna, of Hanna/Barbera fame. He gave her a job at his studio not writing, but painting cartoon cells. It was here, at the heart of the animation industry, that Susan received her real training. She went on to write

hundreds of animation episodes over the years.

But animation was not all she wanted to write. Soon she moved into writing for popular television series&as well as two stage plays. Both of her plays were produced in Los Angeles.

After her years of experience in television and movies, she and her husband, Joe, returned to their roots in Arizona, where they continue to live, though they are often away from home on location for film and TV production. They have three grown children.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real "can't put it down" read, February 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Web of Intrigue (Portraits Series #17) (Paperback)
The author has woven the good, bad, ugly and beautiful into a suspenseful story about the internet and its wide-range effects on its users. I love the characters (the good guys) and wasn't sure who the bad guys were...until the very end. Messages subtle but solid, throughout this very nice piece of work..a beginner? Really good start.

Quite a page-turner. A must-read for anyone who spends lots of time in chat-rooms...or allows their children to do so!
