When I bought the book however, I thought that the content would make upfor the price... not so. A lot of the information in the book I had already foundonline. The interviews in the "book" aren't all that indepth and again merely restates what is already in the book (or what you may know from having done some searching online yourself). In fact the whole book seems to restate the same things over and over again).

But to be fair, there was some good information.

This book is overpriced and outdated. Much of the information about search engine algorithims is not in line with the current standards in the industry. Not worth the high price tag!

The number of people and publications professing to be able to make you a search engine "expert" or "guru" grows every day. More often than not, when I check them out (and I do!) I find them to be more like "snake oil salesmen" then professional internet marketers.

Imagine my utter surprise when I checked out "1 Web Marketing : Achieving Top 10 Rankings in Internet Search Engines: Insider Trade Secrets from Positioning Pros" and found that it was for real!

I work very hard for my clients to gain them the kind of "positioning" they need to be successful on the web and with this book I now work smarter and get better results. You wont find trendy "hints" or "secrets" (most often outdated, if they ever worked at all!) in this resource, instead its full of usefull advice and completely honorable NO-SPAM techniques that if properly applied will definately help your bottom line. The book is clear, consice and to the point. With a little effort on your part, you should be marketing your business like the pros' in no time.

As if all of this was not enough, I needed a little clarification on a point in the book and e-mailed the author from their site...I had a reply to my e-mail within 48hrs!

If you buy no other book to help you to succeed on the web, buy this one. Buy it now!

This is definately the best manual I have seen. No writers bla bla but straight to the point and written in plain uderstandable English. After studying the book I had some questions which I Emailed to them expecting to get an answer the next day as usual. Within 10 minutes I had an answer back from the author himself. I would recommend this manual to everybody who is serious about generating traffice to his site.

As the former moderator of the 6,500 member strong I-Search Digest, and current Search Engine Manager for the near 700 Guides at About.com, I've found that most beginner and intermediate users alike submitting to the engines, unbeknownst to them, are spamming/subverting the indexes and, as a result, are not getting good rankings.

After reading this book, I realized that it offered something usually overlooked by writers in this field: this book teaches what NOT to do, as well as proper strategies and techniques to take full advantage of HTML markup on a page for higher search engine rankings.

This guide provides marketing professionals an excellent and essential resource in the quest for top placement at the engines. It's to the point, clear, and it works. It over explains some aspects of the process and for the seasoned search enigne veteran it may seem basic, but overall, it's is one of the better resources I've found on optimization.

Achieving Top 10 Rankings in Internet Search Engines - just works. I had spent weeks searching for this information online to no avail - I came upon this book and found everything that I needed. I read through the detailed search engine reports and within a few weeks, my site ranked number one on infoseek, hotbot, and other major search engines. This book ofers many tips and tricks that the average Search Engine book or website just doesn't have. I will say that you need to follow the instructions carefully and stay on top of chaning your tags but this was the book that saved our site from internet oblivion.

I was having trouble getting rankings for my clients in the search engines. This book helped me learn what to do (and not to do) and now I'm getting outstanding rankings. Highly recommended!

I have read several similar books on the market, and ResponseDirect is the only one "doing it". It was a little hard to locate specific topics in some cases (mediocre index), but the content and experience-based advice was outstanding; could not have done better hiring consultants.
