5.0 out of 5 stars A "must-have" for Web-writers!!
I am just learning about how to write on the Web. I found this book to be a great reference source with its 24 checklists, worksheets and forms. The Quick-Start Section gave me a good idea of what online writing is all about. The book is easy to understand and provides good detail on all types of writing for the Web.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I'd hoped
This is a very dry read. Given the Web's visual elements, it's surprising there weren't illustrations to demonstrate what the author is talking about.

If you've got even a modicum of media-writing experience, this book is pointless. It'll probably sit on my bookshelf as a reference.

2.0 out of 5 stars Guide to Writing and not much else., March 18, 2006
This review is from: The Web Writer's Guide (Paperback)
I had to get this book for a graduate class I am taking and overall I felt it didn't offer anything new in the world of writing.

It's basically a news writing book but few differences are mentioned in regards to writing for Web pages. There isn't anything in it about how to program the site or lay it out, it's all style.

It isn't much help when you've already read numerous news writing books and taken news writing classes, but for a beginner it might work well.
