The Weber Genesis series gas grill is an exceptionally versatile grill. Besides being easy to assembly, it is very well constructed and easy to maintain (easy to clean on the inside!) We have had ours for over six years and there is not one sign of rust. Sure, we've had to replace "expendable parts" but it has not been the annual replacement of the burner (which we have yet to do) or grates that you experience with many of the lesser priced grills. The only parts we've replaced thus far have been the ignition and "flavorizer" bars (heat "deflectors" over the burners;) each has been replaced only once. The burner arrangement is the best in the industry, IMHO. In all but the smallest of regular Weber gas grills, there are three burners that run the width of the grill (two in the smallest) as opposed to the usual "H" burner arrangement in most other grills. Each is individually controlled which I especially like - I can put fish in the middle of the grill, have the outer two burners on a medium-high with the middle one off, and the fish comes out great! That's not to say you can't burn food. It's just a tad more difficult to blame the grill with the Weber. Another nice feature is the fact that the gas gauge is reasonably accurate. I've got three tanks for gas that I use and have not had a "premature burnout" with any of them due to an inaccurate gas gauge.

A very good recipe book comes with the grill. One of the accessories I consider "must have" is the rotisserie. Unlike other rotisseries that come with a two piece skewer, the Weber comes with a one-piece skewer as well as a counter-weight used to counter-balance the skewer as it rotates. Roast leg of lamb cooked on the Weber is superb!

In the past I have purchased the less expensive BBQs which have got me by each summer. This year I decided I was tired of uneven heat, replacing the inner rusted out inner burners each year. I just purchased the silver model, planing to spend hours putting it together finding missing parts or parts which wouldn't fit together. I was so surprised when an hour later I was cooking away. Even cooking, No burning, great flavor,cooked just right. The Weber Que was my spring present to me to enjoy for many years to come.

My wife and I purchased one of Webers Genesis Silver B gas grills after having almost every known grill on the market. We grill out at least three times a week and have been doing it over 20 years. After trying every food you can think of on the Weber, I can honestly say it tastes better than what I was used to with the other grills. The only down side I can see is the heat is still uneven, cooking faster on one side of the grill than the other. I have tried every burner combination and e-mailed Weber about the problem to see if there was something I could do to correct it, but they never bothered to get in touch with me. So maybe customer service isn't the greatest, but on the plus side, it does cook better, is made to last for years, and overall, I feel is a better grill than most. I am being as honest as possible, and I consider myself knowing how to cook with the best of them. If I could get Weber to answer me about the uneven cooking and if there is anything to be done about it, I would be totally satisfied.

This grill is the perfect combination of price and performance. I know it seems expensive, but if you are going to buy a gas grill, save your money until you can afford this one. I own one and have bought two for wedding gifts. The three burners are the key, along with the Weber quality. The third burner allows indirect cooking of everything from steaks to burgers to chicken. No flare ups, flames or mess. Excellent construction, durability and looks. If you think it's too much money, buy a cheap grill and in two years you will be throwing it away and buying one of these. This grill works great. It was easy to assemble. It is easy to startup and start using. It is high quality and durable. It makes food tast great.

I wasted two years and $175 by purchasing a grill from the local department store. Heating was uneven and I would run out of gas at the worst possible time. My grill eventually looked weatherbeaten and the burner and grill rusted. The piezoelectric starter stopped starting (I replace it twice too! ). I burned all the hair off my right arm and singed my eyebrows pressing that dang start button. A replacement burner and rocks only cost about $30 but the grill was an eyesore. I didn't want to use it anymore.

This Weber has a nice gauge to tell you if you are low on propane. Read the manual when you get this and you will become a grilling expert. I try to grill many different foods and I find some awesome recipes in the Weber cookbook and on the internet. It also has a thermometer -- learn to use it and you will be a grilling expert.

Your friends will be impressed. This grill makes grilling fun. My wife loves it because I cook more often now.

...about these Weber Genesis Grills is true. I've seen reviews in Consumers Reports and Cook's Magazine that gave top ratings to this grill. I love mine and finding any kind of price reduction on them is almost impossible. You will hear that 36,000 Btu is not enough to really sear a steak, but these units use the energy efficiently and they really do the job. To cook chicken to a golden color, light the front and rear burner, leave the center burner off, line the chicken parts across the middle of the grill and enjoy! Arranging burners front, center and rear instead of left and right makes this grill really versatile! An excellent product at a reasonable price.

I have owned a Weber Genesis 1000LX (Silver B) grill since 1998. This spring (2001) I noticed chipping and bubbling of the paint on both upper and lower sections of the black box. I emailed Weber and they said this was a defect. The paint didn't adhere to the metal. They assured me this was only cosmetic and would not effect operation of the grill so I could safely continue to use it. They would in the meantime ship replacement parts to a local service facility. Because this would require significant disassembly and then reassembly of the grill, they would send someone to my home to replace the parts. Mind you this was the whole box they were replacing because of chipping paint. Within 2 weeks time the mission was accomplished. This kind of support for a product is unheard of in this day and age. I cannot recommend Weber highly enough. They make a great product and back it up with a great support team. I raved about my Weber grill before and now I'm looking for an appropriate encore!!!

I bought a good, but not great grill before. I had to rebuild it every other year. But my friend has had a Weber for almost 10 years with no maintenance. So I bought one this year and it is great! The instructions for assembly are the best I have every used. The quality of construction is impressive. Now I just need a couple of years to try every possible recipe. I can't wait for summer!

BTW, Consumer Reports ranked the Silver B as #2, right behind the (more expensive) Weber grill. But they said they didn't think anyone should buy the (more expensive) grill because you really didn't get enough options to make it worth the money. #3 was another Weber. Does that start to tell you something? Get the Weber.

I'm one of those people who research everything before they buy and it really paid off this time. I was already aware of Weber's quality from the old Weber Kettle we owned about 23 years ago! I had decided to get the Genesis Silver A and then decided to get the B because of the three burners. I'm really glad I did because I plan to cook a turkey in it the first chance I get. I put my grill together in about an hour and 15 minutes...not bad for a girl...OK...old lady. Today, I used it for the first time and it worked exactly like the manual described. The pork chops came out perfectly cooked in the exact amount of time the included cookbook specified with no effort on my part at all. All the directions are very clear and the diagrams make it easy to put the grill together and operate. One caveat...when I ordered this grill, I was unaware that it would be delivered by a special agent that delivers Amazon's oversized items. You have to be home to accept delivery. I can't say I was impressed with the punctuality of the delivery. Amazon did come through for me though by following up with their delivery agent. This grill was worth the wait!

I have had this grill now for 2 years. It is by far the best grill I have ever used. My wife and I liked it so much that we talked the family into buying this grill for my father-in-law for Father's Day last year. After watching other family members use the grill I have come to some conclusions. Read The Directions! I use the grill all the time I have never had a flare-up. I have never had any problems. It sits on my balcony in Chicago year-round. It still looks brand new. The ignition lights always on the first click. Shut the gas off at the tank before the controls. If you don't a safety mechanism will keep the grill from heating up beyond 300 degrees(see earlier entry). If it does happen there is a simple way to correct the problem. By reading the directions you will have a grill that is worth the money. It is no wonder Consumer Reports rates this grill #1.
