While I like Shish Kabobs, I do not like cooking shish kabobs. Why? Because the usual skewers are round and have wooden handles. As the food shrinks while cooking, it looses its attachment to the skewer and rotates freely making flipping near impossible. And those wooden handles can't over the fire, of course.

Weber to the rescue! This whole unit is metal, so there are no wooden handles. The skewers are rectangular, which impedes slippage of food while cooking. The skewers fit into grooves in the base, and using good mitts or tongs, the large handles make flipping easy. The entire unit is solidly made.

If one gives all parts a good scrub as soon as they are cool enough to touch, the cleanup is easy. The base snaps apart, so there should be no storeage problems either.

And the price is right

Before I purchased this kabob set, I was using standalone metal kabob skewers that got stuck to the grilling grate every time. I had the option of spraying on grilling spray to make the food not stick but I didn't want to have to mess with that.

I have not been disappointed with this purchase at all. This kabob set is simple to assemble, easy to clean, and easy to use. The big rings at the end make grasping the kabob skewer to rotate while wearing grilling gloves extremely easy. The skewers stay in place and don't keep rolling over when least expected. The food cooked on the skewers wonderfully without the need for nonstick spray. The grips on the side make moving the skewer set from the grill to the table extremely easy and balanced.

Once again Weber has made a terrific quality useful product.

I've used this several times already. It works really well. It easily comes apart to take up less space for storage. It holds the skewers up above the cooking grate, which works well for delicate items like shrimp that tend to stick when they touch the hot surface.

One of the best things about it is the flat skewers. If you are using round skewers, as I was before I bought this, you are in for a treat. They work just like the round ones except the food won't rotate on them. That means when you turn the skewer, the food turns with it -- what a great idea! Believe me, you'll never use the round ones again after trying this.

I am using the Weber 2501 Kabob Set on my Weber Q220. It delivers very nice and tasty results and is easy to handle on the BBQ. In terms of cleaning (should not be put to dishwasher due to nickel plating) and durability it would be great if they were made of stainless steel.

Have used it once so far, and the chicken kebabs I made were cooked to perfection. The big loops are indeed useful while turning these with mitts on (like another reviewer suggested).

They were easy to clean, and all the gunk came right off with a little dishwashing soap.

Had this for over two years and have used with high heat. This seems to hold up very well under a fair amount of use. The advantage is certainly that they sit up enough so that the food does not stick to the grill. I also recommend that you skewer the same meats or veggies on each stick, as they will grill more evenly.

One caution is to definitely have gloves that are extremely heavy and durable, as these get hot. The rings definitely make it easier to turn the food.

Works perfectly. A little on the pricey side, though. But the more you use it to cook for other people, the price per compliment goes down.

The length and width of the skewers are perfect. Everything stays on very nicely and the rack holds the skewers in place at a very good distance. Things cook very well and it is easy to slide the meat and veggies off when they are done. Clean up is easy too.

Came quickly and in great shape. Used it the day I got it. FANTASTIC!! Grilled scallops and the kabob set worked great. Easy to clean-up.

We use this to grill shrimp, and it works great! It's a little painful to wash, and I'm always afraid I'm going to lose one of the pieces. However, we like that it doesn't have a handle so we can close the grill lid. Our shrimp come out cooked perfectly!
