I bought a Weber 22" kettle from a garage sale for 7 bux and the cleaning system was completely rusted out. I cut the rusted parts away with a Dremel and cleaned the kettle. I then bought this replacement part and bam - like new again. Very easy to install and use. And very cheap too !

Had to cut out old retaining nut. I put some high temperature grease on the new threads so it won't corrode.

I grillout year round; so finding replacement parts for my Weber has been a money saver. New condition - great purchase!

Pretty self explanatory. When I read the reviews I was nervous about the old rusted out parts and people needing a drill to remove them. I live in a condo and have limited tools.
What I did was the day I ordered I sprayed the old part on the bottom with some liquid wrench.
When the parts arrived I promptly twisted off the thumb screw on the bottom just as I thought I might.
What I did was just use a little elbow grease to remove the handle which holds the bottom assembly on. I attached a vice grip to the handle and just worked it back and forth twisting it until it came out. Done deal. I replaced the part and was good to go!!

Why did I wait so long? I have been over-roasting things because I couldn't bank the fire down low enough. It took forever for me to have the thought that I might be able to just replace the rusted-out part. Our Christmas beast will be perfect. Now I just have to find the motivation to install it...

The product is perfect. Just understand the old one is probably rusted on and you will not be able to unscrew the old one and screw in the new one! I just drilled out the old center rivet from the inside and the parts came out. So you may need some additional simple tools.

As stated in another review, plan on spending some time and energy getting the old rusted bolt off the grill. I used a hacksaw and bit of elbow grease. The replacement was a breeze to install and fits perfectly.

The hardest part of installing this new ash sweeper/air control was removing the gunky old parts. New parts went in easily and work well. It's a great way to extend the life of your kettle.

Installation was easy and everything fit perfectly. The instructions were a bit minimalistic and could have used a bit more detail but the installation procedure was fairly intuitive.
