5.0 out of 5 stars Ultimate Grill Choice
I am extremely satisfied with this grill. It is by far the best one I could find for the money. I considered buying it locally, but found out that I could buy it for $200 dollars less from Amazon.com. It would've been worth the extra $200, but why pay more than you have to.

I considered purchasing the E-320, but decided that the side burner was a feature...

1.0 out of 5 stars BE AWARE!!!!!!!!
UPDATED:
After using the new Weber Propane grill this entire summer, I have to say I'm disappointed. My last Weber grill was superb and a real workhorse. This one has gas-flow problems which appear randomly. Full gas on all burners and it barely puts out 200 degrees. If I turn off the gas, wait a few seconds, turn it all back on again, then the flow is putting out...

I am extremely satisfied with this grill. It is by far the best one I could find for the money. I considered buying it locally, but found out that I could buy it for $200 dollars less from Amazon.com. It would've been worth the extra $200, but why pay more than you have to.

I considered purchasing the E-320, but decided that the side burner was a feature that would probably never be used. Most people I talk to that have bought grills with side burners never actually use them. The E-310 is wonderful. It cooks evenly, has great control over temperatures, and is built to last. I can't imagine needing a new one for a very long time.

If I had to pick the bad part of this grill, I would be pretty hard pressed to come up with something. The only thing I can think of is that the burners run from left to right along the length of the grill instead of from front to back. This isn't a problem - just different than what I'm used to. So as a result, you have to get used to having your indirect heat zones in a different place than you may be used to.

Shortly after I got it, we had a pool party where we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for 20 people. I was able to cook all the meat for the crowd at the same time.

I would highly recommend this grill.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top quality product - cooks great!, May 21, 2007

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Weber 3841001 Genesis E-310 Natural Gas Grill, Black (Lawn & Patio)
This product came un-assembled. It was boxed extremely well with no missing parts and good instruction. As with my previous Weber BBQ that I used for 15 years this is a high quality product.

Best of all it cooks great!

5.0 out of 5 stars So Far So Good, March 10, 2008

So far, this is the best BBQ I have used. In all fairness, most all BBQs I've had were pretty good from the start but in the past, they only seem to last about 2 years since the burners rust out (living near the coast). The longevity of the burners remains to be seen but the quality of the BBQ is pretty good and the strength of the heat and how evenly it is spread is better than my previous experience.

It was pretty easy to assembly (took about 2 hours) and everything was in the package. I would highly recommend getting the Weber cover from the start as well as other Weber accessories (the grill brush is the best I have ever seen and the reason I went with Weber in the first place).

It was shipped through Eagle and though I read some bad stories of late deliveries, mine was ready to be received exactly on the estimated date.

You will enjoy this medium level BBQ.

This grill is great - looks great on the deck, feels very solid and substantial, and has a nice large cooking surface.

We received one incorrect trim piece in the package. Weber's customer service is very accessible; their phone lines are open long hours. We received a replacement part with no delay.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good grill, but the ignition is cheaply made, July 29, 2008

I'd give this grill five stars if it weren't for the following design flaw: the ignition switch parts are made of cheap, flimsy plastic. So flimsy that the third time we used it the ignition completely fell apart. (The grill was assembled by Barbeques Galore, so I assume they knew what they were doing.)

It was easy enough to re-assemble the ignition, but this seems like one of those parts that I will be replacing in a couple of years. If this were a cheap grill, I would not mind so much. But it's not a cheap grill, and at this price one expects quality parts.

Kind of frustrating, because Weber could have spent an extra dollar to use better materials and make a switch that would not be so flimsy...

Weber makes a great grill. It looks great, a pleasure to light up and is easy to clean! My brother set it up for me though as it came with many, many parts--I Thank God for him! So, bottom line if you have a few hours, are very organized and patient enough to put it together, it's great. However, it definitely would have been easier to just purchase it locally and had it delivered assembled...probably wouldn't have gotten it for such a great price though:-).

5.0 out of 5 stars Weber Grill- a good purchase, August 9, 2007
This review is from: Weber 3841001 Genesis E-310 Natural Gas Grill, Black (Lawn & Patio)
The weber grill is a great product. Easy to assemble and easy to use. All the parts were there and were in good shape.

My only criticism was with the local transport company in Denver (Eagle). They didn't deliver the grill on the day they committed so I had to come home from work twice to meet them. They generally seemed out of control.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Grill!, January 17, 2009

I have had this grill for about 8 months and have been very happy with it. The only problem I have had is with the ignition switch. A AAA battery is used inside of the button that lights the grill. the button is not water tight, so any time it rains the battery area fills with water. After a few rains and me cleaning the switch and replacing the battery, the ignitor stopped working. Weber customer service is great and they sent me a replacement ignitor under warranty. I use my grill 3 - 4 times a month all year long so I don't normally like to hassle with a cover. But I guess I will have to or change the ignitor to a non battery operated type. Overall all great grill, but Weber needs to make the battery compartment water tight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh Those Prime Ribs, April 9, 2008
By

This review is from: Weber 3841001 Genesis E-310 Natural Gas Grill, Black (Lawn & Patio)
This is one terrific grill. After 35 years of using a double Charmglow grill, which was showing its age, this Weber is a revelation. Sturdy and substantial are two adjectives that leap to mind. Instant lighting and rapid warmup and cooking are features I've come to love so far. Plus it doesn't go out in winds like my Charmglow did.

Everything tastes better, even plain old hot dogs and hamburgers. And, oh those prime ribs I grilled Sunday on the rotisserie (an accessory purchased separately)! Cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious.

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Weber is tops. There is no substitute for the best., July 4, 2010
This review is from: Weber 3841001 Genesis E-310 Natural Gas Grill, Black (Lawn & Patio)
This review is for the Weber S-310, the stainless steel version of the E-310, with SS grates and flavor bars like the EP-310. (I got the natural gas version. It comes with the hose already attached, plus the brass coupler.) The front, shelves, and hood are SS. The sides of the hood and shelves are gray aluminum, and the sides and back are gray painted steel. All the parts are of a high quality. Note: The newest S model has a frame around the front doors, not the solid front as shown in the Amazon picture. I prefer the cleaner looking solid front, but this version makes it have the same look and production across the Genesis line.

Everything comes very safely and securely packaged in a large box with lots of cardboard and plastic bags. The various nuts and bolts are in several separate packages. Most of the stainless steel is covered with a rubbery coating that is fairly easily removed. I suggest using a cloth to hold the part being stripped since the SS is a fingerprint magnet. The instructions are mostly pictures, often small. It is easy to make a mistake that can cause a problem further down the assembly. For instance, the clips that have a nut attached should always face the inside of whatever they are being attached to. The four wheels have two that lock. Those two should be placed in the front so they can be reached.

The instructions show two people lifting the top unit out of the box. One can do it if you remove the hood first. Simply remove the retaining bolts and put the hood aside. Next, remove all the parts packed inside the top unit. What is left is easy to lift. You can also slice down the edges of the box with a shop knife and lay the sides flat for easier access. Make sure you have lots of clean flat space in which to work, such as your driveway. Carefully lay all the parts out for easy access and identification.

Use a 7/16" socket wrench for most bolts. One bolt is 11mm, though. The included wrench is very impractical, and is only needed to adjust the front doors to square. You will need a #1 and a #2 Phillips screwdriver for the screws. A power drill will work, but carefully set the torque. Putting it together took me over 2 hours. The excellent design virtually assures proper assembly. After hooking up to the natural gas line, I turned the unit on high. The first burner has the electric spark so it should be opened first. The knobs may feel a bit loose, but that is because they are attached to springy gas regulators. The push-button spark generator is quite effective. To test, and to clean the interior, I let it heat up to 650 degrees - much hotter than my previous grill could ever go. It did so rather quickly, and could have kept going! (The thermometer goes up to 700 degrees.) At that high temperature, the hood handle remained relatively cool, except at the very sides, where it was a little warm. Opening the hood sends out a blast of hot air. You can then appreciate having the control knobs placed well to the side instead of on the front.

The warranty is the best in the business. The parts quality assures full utilization of that warranty, justifying the higher initial cost. It reminds me of another industry leader, Anderson Windows and Doors. There is simply no substitute for the best of something.
