5.0 out of 5 stars easy to use, easy to look at, June 30, 2001
This model has a little handy table off to the side that really helps. No longer am I reaching over to the picnic table or balancing a plate of food while I remove the lid and place the food on the grill.

The hand ash catcher makes the chore of collecting and disposing of the ash much cleaner.

The grill can be put together in 15 to 20 minutes, the instructions are clear and easy.

I also love the green color - this model is available in colors other than black.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and EASY to assemble!, February 2, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I read where one person took a few days to put this together. If you know which end of a screwdriver to hold, it should take you about 30 minutes, tops.

Get a phillipshead screwdriver, 7/16 socket and wrench (plus a box end if you have one - otherwise plyers work to hold the bolts while you tighten them up), a hammer and a piece of wood - or assemble outside. That's all you need!

The charcoal dividers are a VERY nice added feature - comes with all the accessories I bought for my old (20 years and still working!) Weber 22 incher! Tool rack, cover holder, grill grate with the ends that open for adding extra charcoal and side table. Even my thirteen year old DAUGHTER said, "Cool!" when she saw it. And it is tough getting that kind of reaction out of her about anything! I think the blue color helped!

I can hardly wait to fire it up!

The grill is great clean up is a breeze. Having the tray to set things on is a great help. The lid tilts back so you don't have to take it of and hook it on the side. The coals are easily dissposed of. I love this grill.

This review is from: Weber 461001 18 1/2-Inch One-Touch Platinum Charcoal Grill, Black (Lawn & Patio)
I was a little leary of buying an "assemble-it-yourself" grill - I've watched too many sitcoms. But this one was great - the directions are clear, and pictures are well designed to demonstrate techniques. Takes only a few tools - screwdriver, adjustable wrench - and less than 1 hour. It is very sturdy. I've used it twice now and have no complaints. Would recommend the nylon cover if you are going to keep it outside. Too bad Amazon doesn't carry it in their accessory line, but I did find it elsewhere online.

4.0 out of 5 stars not bad, January 5, 2006
its a nice grill, it took about 45 minutes to put together. the nuts it came with were really cheap, and we were missing the spacers, but besides that it is pretty well made and a good size. the color is really cool too.
