Amazon.com Review

Featuring durable, stainless steel construction and legendary Weber reliability, the Summit Gold line represents the peak of gas-grill performance. With an input of 57,600 BTUs per hour, this propane grill offers enough firepower to sear foods for true-grilled taste. Six, rust-resistant, stainless steel burners run the length of the cookbox for exceptionally even and powerful heating without hot or cold spots, while infinitely-adjustable burner valves lend the flexibility needed to cook with both direct and indirect heat. A spacious 902 inches of total cooking area provides enough room to cook for even the biggest groups and includes a convenient warming rack and a warm-up basket for cooking easily-burned foods like fish or vegetables. The electronic crossover ignition system lights all burners in succession with the push of a button.

The Summit Gold A6 also comes loaded with highly-functional extras such as a fixed commercial-grade thermometer, three sturdy tool holders and a roomy enclosed storage area with stainless steel doors and a heavy-gauge steel bottom shelf. One removable and two swing-up work surfaces offer plenty of space to spread out sauces, marinades, utensils and other prep essentials. Plus, they're made from granite-look Thermoset for maximum durability, heat and weather resistance, and easy cleaning. Like all Weber gas grills, the Summit Gold also employs heavy-duty stainless steel Flavorizer bars to eliminate flare-ups caused by lava rocks and ceramic briquets. Fats and juices hit the angled bars and sizzle away, adding delicious, smoky barbecue flavor instead of flames. A slide-out bottom tray funnels grease into a removable catch pan for quick and painless clean-up. The Summit Gold A6 is as durable, safe, and efficient as it is convenient. Its stainless steel hood features double-wall construction, adding a layer of insulation to trap heat and protect against unsightly discoloration no matter what the weather. Rugged, weather-resistant wheels are crack-proof in the most extreme temperatures and allow easy transport, while locking casters prevent the grill from rolling while you cook. Burners even have screens to keep spiders from spinning combustible webs inside. Best of all, ten fasteners are all that's needed to put this grill together--meaning you'll go from box to barbecue in less than 40 minutes. The Summit Gold A6 measures 68 inches wide, by 62-1/2 inches tall, by 34-1/2 inches deep. Backed with a limited lifetime warranty, this grill’s made in the USA. --Mary Park

5.0 out of 5 stars An Awsome Grill, November 3, 2005

This review is from: Weber 5760001 Summit Gold A6 Propane Gas Grill (Lawn & Patio)
I still have a 15 year old Weber Genesis that works fine but I wanted something bigger. Sticking with the reliable Weber name I bought the Summit Gold A6. This grill is big. 902 sq. inches of cooking area is huge compared to the Genesis. This model doesn't have a rear-mounted infrared rotisserie burner or a side burner but who uses them anyway. The grill looks impressive, it's easy to clean, and I love having the controls in the front. Six burners really let you control the heat where you want it. Six burners also heats up fast and hot, 650+ degrees. If you have a permanent place for it I would get a natural gas model. If you are like me and move it around, get a LP model. Six burners does suck up some gas but its worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Monster grill, July 13, 2006
This review is from: Weber 5760001 Summit Gold A6 Propane Gas Grill (Lawn & Patio)
This is a nice piece of equipment. Works very well, although if you haven't BBQ'd, or are coming from a two or three burner grill, this grill can be a bit overwhelming. With six burners, you have to have patience to figure out haw many to put on and how high. One little item that I notice is that it can sometimes be hard to tell whether the burners lit. There is not much visibility through the grates and the flavorizer bars to actually see the bruners. All in all, it is a solid unit.
