5.0 out of 5 stars EASY GRILLING....GREAT RIBS!
This rack works well. Using indirect heat, a drip pan with a little water in it to catch the grease and create a little moisture and you are set to go! The rack holds more than you think it will hold. Can be used for chicken breasts, quarters, etc. also. I spray my racks with a little olive oil before I put everything on the grill...this helps with the clean...

2.0 out of 5 stars for skinny ribs
I typically buy baby back ribs. This rack just does not have wide enough spacing. Most of my ribs simply do not fit. I like the stainless steel but not happy with the spacing. I tried widening it but not the greatest results.

5.0 out of 5 stars Problem Solver, October 12, 2009

I needed a way to hold slabs of ribs in my gas fired smoker - without taking up all the shelf space. This rack works perfectly for that. Fits on one shelf of my smoker, holds four half racks of ribs between the uprights and two more half racks by leaning them up against the ends. Since we get our baby back ribs packed three full racks to a package this works out great. I have to cut the racks of ribs into two to fit them into the smoker so this wire rack accommodates them all. Price is right for the problem it solves.

Weber products are always good. I bought another of these
at a local store and they work very well, but best with the
St Louis trimmed style ribs. The full racks come over too far
and will limit your load to 2 rack at a time without touching.

The trimmed ones are best anyway and use the trimmings for tasters.

Not bad to clean and the finish comes right back each time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice size for a weber 22", April 22, 2011
This review is from: Weber 6406 Rib Rack (Lawn & Patio)
I just bought one at my local hardware store and was pleased at their size and quality. The picture doesn't do them justice. They seem to be heavy duty. I sprayed them with Pam to help with cleanup. They fit the baby-back ribs I bought at Costco just fine. I cut my ribs in half and since I had 3 sets of ribs put two in the rack and leaned two on the sides. If you cook them in the middle of the weber you could probably put up to 4 sets in the rack although they would stick out on the sides.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for baby backs, December 10, 2010

I cook baby back pork ribs all the time. This rib rack is indispensable. The poster that said they were too small must not have tried cooking with them. It holds the ribs up and apart so that they get even heat. If they were any farther apart the ribs would slump down in the slots keeping them from getting even heat and making them difficult to remove. Once they are done you just take them off the heat, flip them over and give them a shake-the ribs just fall out. I have only cooked beef spare ribs once as they are not as popular with my crowd, but they worked well with them also.

I just used this for the first time last weekend and it did a pretty good job. The finish is good, no issues with balance (ie the ribs flopping over), no rusting issues after washing...it did it's job pretty well.

There were only one thing really keeping this from being a five star review. Like another poster put the holders are somewhat close together. I was able to slip them in with no problem, pulling them out I had to be careful because after smoking them for 6 hours they get a bit tender. The only real problem I had was that the ribs in the middle were so tightly pressed against the rack on either side that it didn't get as much heat or smoke. I had to finish those ribs off in the oven and they didn't have the nice smoke ring I like to see. I would suggest only cooking one or two racks at a time so this doesn't happen (this is kind of a bummer since there are technically 4 slots for the ribs to go).

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Difference this Rack Makes!, September 23, 2010

This review is from: Weber 6406 Rib Rack (Lawn & Patio)
We purchased this Weber rib rack and it was an immediate hit. We have recently started using wood chips and a smoker box on our Weber gas grill and bought the rack for obviously, making ribs. What we did not realize until after using it, is it is also perfect for thick boneless pork chops, bone-in chicken breasts, and anything else that you want to cook low and slow to keep the moisture in. We put a little spice rub on the chops, stand them up in the rack, and they are the best tasting chops we have made in many years of grilling. Very happy with how moist they are. The only thing we haven't completely mastered yet is cleanup. I am not sure you need to use a non-stick spray on it, but I did, and it is difficult to clean it off afterwards. Next time around we will skip that step and see if it cleans up more easily after a good soak in hot soapy water. But the rack is a great design and has added to the fun we have grilling!

This rack is kinda small, but usable. It's not complete junk, but is probably a decent value for the price.

If you want a heavy duty rack, go to TJ Maxx, Marshall's or Home Goods and look for a Charcoal Companion rack. It's cheaper, heavier and will double as a roast rack in your roasting pan in the oven. I mean smoker.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Ever, May 28, 2011
This review is from: Weber 6406 Rib Rack (Lawn & Patio)
I purchased this rack 4 yrs ago from a local store. I have used to smoke mostly babyback ribs but also St.Louis cut ribs as well.It allows me to make better use of the grill space & to cook more than one or two items. It's been used alot in 4yrs. since in So.California you can grill year round & it still looks great. I just spray with Pam for grilling & cleanup is a breeze. Just ordered another one for a friend.
