Weber 6453 Style Rib Rack

I love ribs, but I hate making them. That is... until I bought this rib rack. It's as close to "set it and forget it" as you can get, if you have a gas grill.

Put the ribs on the rack, get your grill around 300 degrees with indirect heat, and come back in two hours. That's pretty much it, without getting in to different rubs / sauces / smoke.

The design of this rack keeps the heat evenly distributed around your ribs, without grill marks (except for the tips, which may touch the grill). The wide sides make it fairly easy to carry from the grill to your table, but keep in mind, the rack will be VERY HOT. You'll want a couple Weber Barbecue Mitts, and a clear path to your table (and something that can withstand the heat from the rack).

There are two reasons this doesn't get five stars:

1) The space between the slots is fairly limited, and ribs curl a little when they're cooked. Getting cooked baby back ribs out of this is tricky, if you want to keep your rub and sauce intact.

2) You're paying a pretty huge premium for the Weber name and the "Weber Style" design. This would make a very nice gift for someone, with the design, branding, and full-color box it comes in. But from a practical standpoint, it isn't hugely different from the Weber 6406 Rib Rack, which costs less than half as much.

If you're a fan of the Weber brand or the Style designs, this is pretty nice. But if you're just looking for something functional, the side handles are the only thing you gain over the less expensive model from Weber.

This rib rack, Weber 6453 Style Rib Rack, is stainless steel and has adjustable slats. The other Weber rib rack, Weber 6406 Rib Rack, is nickel-plated steel and does not have adjustable slats. That is why one rack is more expensive than the other.

If you're looking for a rib rack to take some abuse, not rust, and willing to pay a premium, this is the rack for you. The only reason i give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the price. However, I have the Weber 4431001 Spirit E-320 Propane Grill, Black along with Weber Style 6435 Professional-Grade Grill Pan and the rib rack fits perfectly with the grill pan. If you're looking for something that is built to fit with your Weber grill, and last pretty much forever, you can't go wrong with that trio, it's a match made in heaven!

This rib rack looks great, it is very sturdy, and although it has room for 4 racks, I was able to fit a fifth between the last slot and the handle. The ribs turned out wonderful. I used no nonstick spray, and I removed the ribs from the rack with no problems whatsoever. Cleanup was great. I removed any bits of food and smoke residue easily, and the rack still looks brand new after the first use. I recommend this rack for the quality, price, and easy cleanup. Highly recommended.

Very nice and will work wonderful in my Weber 22.5 Bullet Smoker. I saw previous descriptions about it being adjustable. It isn't, however, made out of stainless steel and very sturdy.. Great product... HELLO RIBS.... LOL

I have smoked on a Weber kettle for many years and recently bought the Weber smoker, this product exceeded my expectations. After owning two Weber kettle grills my expectations were high for this product and it still exceeded my expectations. Very sturdy construction, high quality, and easy to clean. I have got along without one this long and have used an inverted v-rack but this item is great in the way it supports full sized ribs and has handles at both ends. I load the ribs into the rack with it sitting on the half sheet pan that the ribs rest on with the dry rub applied. I carry the ribs on the sheet pan out to the grill and use the handles to lift them on to the grill and for rotating them. Fantastic!

This rib rack has a quality appearance and feel about it. The design makes it very easy to move several racks of ribs from one grilling zone to another in a flash. Transporting several racks of ribs from grill to table is also made simple with this product. However, I found that one more rib rack separation would have been a preferred design for application of sauces to three racks of ribs during grilling. With one additional rib separation, a open space would exist between each rack of ribs for even and easy application of sauces. Clean up is easy since the rack is stainless and dishwasher safe. One additional rack separation would have earned 5 stars.

So surprised! I thought that for the money this would just be a rack that most likely wouldn't last all that long. Very pleasantly surprised when I opened it. Sturdy, has some 'heft' to it, well made. This will be with me for a good long while.

This is a very well engineered and manufactured steel item. I have grilled baby back pork ribs with this set, using dry BBQ rub and the indirect method on high heat. The rack does what it is advertised to do and is well worth the price.
