Weber 70615 Hinged Cooking Grate, Replacement Grate for Weber's One-Touch, Master-Touch, Bar-B-Kettle and Performer grills

My husband is now able to slow cook food on the grill now that he can add charcoal to the BBQ as needed. If you have a weber, get this!

I rarely review items. I must note my disappointment, however, with customer service for this item. While the description clearly states for the Performer Grill, this grate did not fit it. The Seller insisted on a restocking fee of 1/3 of the cost of the item. When pointed out to the seller, the seller responded that there was more than one size grate for the Performer Grill. This was checked via Weber product description and confirmed to be inaccurate during the customer service call. The inaccuracy of the product description notwithstanding, the seller refused to accept the return without the restocking fee. I cannot recommend the seller, when other merchants would have treated the customer with more respect.

This hinged grate easily allows you to put in extra charcoal or even move them around while still cooking food. The original was quite frustrating, you easily could drop your food onto the ground while trying to access the hot charcoals. While one should have bought the larger grill for cooking beyond several people, I'm stuck with my 18 incher and the hinged grill is a must have, I can guarantee you can't live without it or you'll always say I should have bought one when it's too late to do so

Bought this to use on my Large Big Green Egg to give me access to coals while cooking. It's a little smaller than original grate, but fits without danger of falling in. No complaints.

This is a great everyday rack but is especially helpful when used for slow, indirect grilling as it allows for the the coals to be replenished without having to move the rack off the grill. The quality is just as one would expect from Weber. Fits perfectly but is a little more difficult to clean since there are hinges on each side.

If you bought the One Touch Silver and what to slow cook, then you NEED this! It allows you to add more coals without having to remove the food. When you are smoking ribs for 6 or 8 hours this is a necessity!!

Short of having an extra limb the hinged grate allows for roasting/grilling with much less heat loss. The extra control of the heat source allows for a better cooked product. "This steak is b--tching", was a quote from the gameday crowd at Jack Kent Cook Stadium at fedex field in Maryland. I will continue to "Pimp My Grill" with more accessories for next season.
