Weber 7441 Replacement Charcoal Grates

Purchase this as an add on to my new Weber grill. I crisscross it on top of each other to save the charcoal from fall off to the bottom too soon. It is less expensive order from Amazon at the time of purchase and save me a trip to the home improvement stores.

Just another review to help out my few fellow Weber Performer Weber 841001 22.5-Inch Performer Charcoal Grill with Touch-N-Go Propane Ignition, Black users out there. I ordered this to replace my OEM grate and it works perfectly. My original unit was warped from occasionally leaving the charcoal ignition gas burner on too long. That said, if you're handy, the original unit can be wire wheeled or media blasted clean, heated up with a torch and pounded back flat to a "like new" appearance. They make these out of some pretty tough stainless steel and they can take a beating. Now I have a new one and a functional spare just in case.

I have a kettle weber that I have owned for over 20 years. The bars on the charcoal grates had gotten very thin with wear and were bent into a concave shape. I had no desire to spend the 80 plus dollars on a new weber since the kettle part of mine is still in great shape. The replacement grates were a perfect solution, they fit just as well as the originals and were a much cheaper solution. Now I am ready to continue using my weber for another 20 years!

I agree with all the other reviews here that this is a great replacement part for Weber kettle grills. I will caution, though, that I get a maximum 2-3 years use out of these grates before they warp into a concave shape. I haven't tried wirebrush cleaning my old one and pounding it flat, but I'm going to see if that can work. It's not an expensive replacement part, and it does fit great and work great, but don't expect to get 20 years out of it before you need to replace it.

Grate is strong and solid. Should last for years like the original. Too bad the tub is getting wore out and i haven't found that weber sells them anywhere.
