With its impressive roster of features and durable stainless steel construction, the Summit Platinum line represents the peak of gas-grill performance. It has both a 57,600 BTU main burner and a 12,000-BTU commercial-grade side burner--so you can heat side dishes and sauces while meat grills. Six rust-resistant stainless steel burners run the length of the cookbox for even heating without hot or cold spots. Infinitely-adjustable burner valves let you cook with direct or indirect heat, while a spacious 902 square inches of total cooking area provides enough room to cook for even the biggest groups. An electronic Crossover ignition system lights all burners in succession with the push of a button. I have to admit that I had a hard time choosing between the Summit Platinum B6 Propane Grill and the D6, the only difference being the rotisserie. In the end, I realized that I didn't eat a lot of chicken on the grill (give me steaks or tuna), so I didn't pay the extra $300 for something I was likely not going to use (the rotisserie). I am extremely happy with this grill. First of all, friends, it's just absolutely gorgeous. The stainless steel is beautiful and very easy to clean. Secondly, this bad boy cranks up to full heat in less than 10 minutes. Thirdly, the heating is sufficient to sear tuna (1 minute per side with sashimi grade ahi tuna, and perfection) or steak without cooking it all the way through. Finally, the heat is even throughout, and the adjustable burners make for very easy indirect cooking.
I have to admit that I am still a charcoal man at heart (and I keep an old Weber charcoal pit on the side), but I may have made a late life conversion based upon the ease of use here. It's just too easy, and has had me cooking outside much much more. As an aside, this grill arrived in New Orleans (home town) one month before the storm. Consequentally, this baby was my sole source of cooking for over a month. I think that makes it a survival tool, and I'm thinking about sending the receipt to FEMA. ;)

As a person who grills during all seasons, I am very picky about grills and their components. Found this Webber and looked into all aspects of grill (rotisserie and all). Found that rotisserie was not necessary for my type of grilling, and saved about $350. I love this grill. True to temp. and fast heating. From steaks to vegies, thie grill is the best I have ever had. You'll love it
