MUCH better than the porcelain bars.!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Weber 9816 Stainless Steel Flavorizer Bars (Lawn & Patio)
My porcelain flavor bars rusted through each year. After replacing them yearly (although under the warranty so at no cost), I finally decided to forego the headaches each year and purchase these stainless steel bars. I've used them for a few years now and they are GREAT!

Measurement of product,

While this product is excellent it took me a long time to decide whether to purchase it. In the specifications, the length is listed twice as being 25-inches. This is incorrect. The actual length is 22.5-inches, the length required for my Genesis Silver C Grill. I took the chance that the specs were wrong ... and I was right.

Stainless Steel will Still rust out! Just takes longer...,

Please be warned, fellow Weber grill-heads. These Stainless bars are 5 times better than those horrible porcelain enameled steel ones, but they WILL rust, warp and crumble...I guarantee it. My original SS bars on my Weber Gold B lasted into the 5th season before all of a sudden they got all warped and began to collapse. Upon inspection I realized that they were corroded so badly they literally crumbled in my hands.
If you want a better solution, check this out: There is a metal fabricator guy in Burlingame California who makes these bars out of the same stainless steel, only about 30% thicker and heavier. And for the same price delivered as what these factory Weber bars will cost you. I expect to get 7 or 8 seasons out of these thicker bars for the same cost and I grill 2-3 times a week on average almost all year round. Grill on.... He sells on Ebay under the name rcplanebuyer.

Made my grill new again!,

After having my Silver B for 7 years, the origional porcelin bars were very rusty. My grill would flare up terribly. I thought it might be from the rust holding the drippings and grease and making the flares worse. I was right! These stainless units (the length is listed wrong here) are great! I just cooked brauts without a flare up! Price was great; thanks Amazon!

SS bars worth the extra cost,

This review is from: Weber 9816 Stainless Steel Flavorizer Bars (Lawn & Patio)
I have had a Weber Silver B grill for several years. The grill is great, but the steel flavorizor bars rust and have to be replaced (I replaced my bars twice in five years). I have just started using the SS bars, but I am sure they will be better than the old bars, and well worth the extra initial cost. If I had been able to get the SS bars earlier (not usually available from local markets), I probably would not have had to replace the bars as I did (twice). I highly recommend spending the extra dollars for SS bars when the originals fall apart.

These replaced the old porcelain flavorizer bars, which finally broke after about 15 years of regular use. The stainless steel ones are working great so far.

With new stainless flavorizer bars and new stainless steel cooking grates, I plan on many more years of use for this grill. My only wish is that they were a little cheaper on Amazon--price didn't beat local prices by much and only super saver shipping made it a deal.

The part was first quality and fair priced. It fit my grill perfectly since it is made by Weber for my grill. The site is easy to use and the information is very reliable.I recommend getting stainless steel because they generally last much longer than the other types.A Weber grill is an item that,if cared for properly, will last for many years. So why not improve yours and move up to stainless steel- I did!

My original bars rusted out in 5 years. These new stainless steel bars are much better quality. I expect they will outlast the BBQ. I would recommend replacing the old ones if they are rusted out because it causes flare ups and uneven temps.
