Product Description

Amazon.com

For an airtight, secure connection between a liquid propane grill and its tank, barbecue giant Weber offers this QCC1 adaptable hose and regulator kit from their wide variety of genuine replacement parts. The regulator ensures that fuel safely travels from the tank through the grill, preventing any leaks or mishaps. This kit fits several Weber liquid propane grills, including the Free Spirit 500 and 700, Genesis models 1000 through 5000, and the Platinum I and II models.

The kit contains a standard 22-inch, rubber hose. The regulator features a large, plastic knob that users manually screw counterclockwise onto QCC1 connection style tanks for a factory seal. Affixing the regulator to the tank requires absolutely no tools, while use of articles such as a screwdriver may cause damage. When attached properly, users may notice a gentle whistle or a hum as a result of the full tank, barometric pressure, or humidity. An air vent on the regulator also releases a hissing sound as air circulates. Such sounds are absolutely normal unless accompanied by the scent of gas. Grill owners in rural environments or with pets may opt to purchase a wire hose guard to prevent animals from chewing through the hose. A detailed manual assists users with kit assembly and safety tips. --Jessica Reuling

I found this Weber part, it looked like it would work, and it does.

I have owned my Weber since 1993. It was from Sears but is basically a Genesis 1000. The only replacement parts that I have purchased since that time is two igniters and the one that fits is the #7509 as found with this link Weber 7509 Igniter Kit. After years of dealing with the quick gas disconnect for the Weber Genesis 1000, it was time to switch to the more traditional propane cylinder. Why? MY OPD valve in my original tank somehow became stuck after a recent fill.

This adapter is nice and is the same length as the original regulator hose. Simple to remove the old hose and install the new one. I used some soft-set, slow drying compound sealant to lubricate and protects threaded piece and not allow any gas leaks. Worked very well and easily found at Lowes or Home Depot.

The easy on/off is great since no wrench is needed and this is as good as the quick release tanks.

I would also recommend looking at the replacement burner set. It can be had on Amazon by looking at this link Weber 7506 Stainless-Steel Burner Tube Set but I was able to find the same set via a simple search for only $11.99 (a savings of over $30). Actually, there are lots of old Weber parts out there if you just look. Finding the proper Weber part number is key.

My "do it yourself" grill makeover will cost me only $45 total and the grill will probably run for another 15 years with no issues. Good luck! Thanks for reading!

Works great - switched from the old quick-release to the new design (which seems to be the only thing they carry nowadays!)

There are other regulators for sale claiming to be for the Genesis 1000 but they don't have the needed 1/8" NPT male fitting. If you buy price only, the lower priced items have the 21" hose but not the 1/8" NPT you need to connect to the female fitting on the burner manifold.

I purchased this specific hose/regulator because the picture indicated it was a true Weber product. What you get is a knock-off version in a plastic bag. The same version you find on Amazon sold for $20. I paid the extra $12 ($32 total) for a true Weber product. I am returning this item and purchasing the real-deal from the Weber website for $30.

UPDATE, November 16, 2012
I received my Weber order today. It's the same hose (made in Canada) and regulator (made in Mexico) that I received from the seller. Updating my review to reflect that the seller gives you a Weber product. Overall you save $8 with the seller (Weber charged tax and shipping - total $38).

So happy you were there to supply this new fitting!; otherwise we would have had to look for another grill---and we love this one. I looked in all the stores that the Weber hot line mentioned: Home Depot, Lowes, etc. nobody had one. When I found your site, there was a review saying that she had the old hose fitting which wouldn't fit the new tanks and that this regulator kit was perfect to do the job. So, if you have an old style connection that won't fit the new tanks, order this; it's easy to install, works perfectly. Thanks so much!!

This regulator kit eliminates the hassle of transferring the adapter from one tank to another tank. You can also get rid of the black plastic plug which is needed to unscrew the adapter from one tank to another. Quick connects and disconnects are possible by replacing the old hose and regulator with this kit. It is easily installed, and the benefit is immediate.

When the Govenment changed over to the new sytle valve connections on LP gas containers I was caught in a bind. But finding the Weber 3604 was and answer to my problem and saved me from buying another grill. Works great.

With my order there was an error with the shipping of the shipping regulator. The item was not shipped correctly, creating concern for the integrity of the item. I sent Mr. Young of True Value an email last night. He address my concerns with honesty and promptness within 1 hour. What can I say, he went above and beyond to rectify the situation.

I would happily do business with this vendor again!

BTW, Mr. Young did inform me that Weber stopped packaging the component in the same packaging as noted above. Do not be dismayed, this is the way Weber now packages the item.
