With this code as their key, children can join Webkinz World without giving out any personal information such as e-mail, last name or phone number.

My daughter is 8 and hasn't stopped playing on the Webkinz website since her Webkinz arrived. She doesn't always play with the toy itself, but since that is the key to going to the website, it is necessary, and does play with it from time to time. She's just never been a big stuffed animal kid. My son has a Webkinz too. He likes the toy a lot. He plays on the website too, but not quite as much or as easily as my daughter. He needs a little more help understanding some of the things and doesn't read as well as she does. Overall, a great buy!

My kids are IN LOVE with the whole Webkinz world. They could spend 24 hours a day on there. The stuffed animals are adorable, and cuddly. They actually become irrelevant after you register them on the site, but that's the genius of the concept. You pay 12 to 15 bucks for the code number to plug in at the Webkinz site. The kids earn "money" to buy things/homes for the pets by playing games and there are safe chats for the kids. It's genius! The only thing I dislike is that after a year, you have to pay to renew and it's not clear how much that is. But it's all the rage here and my kids are thrilled with them!

Webkinz are great - it's like a mix of myspace, the sims and an online casino... I am not sure if all iof these things are things you want your kids to be doing (ummm, the "secured" chat room is not always appropriate even though they try really hard to make it such) and there are slot machines and such to win on, also I am not sure about that as appropriate... but the educational stuff is really educational and as fun. Although your tag only stays good for a year, you can pick age appropriate learning so it stays with your child. Thay can also meet and make friends, albeit new ones or friends from school. All in all, pretty neat, but monitoring your child with this might be a consideration..
