Very good Antivirus and Antispyware protection
I have been using Webroot Antivirus and Antispyware software on computer systems for many years. Although, it will run scans via the Task Scheduler, it still needs attention to maintain it's ability to keep your system fully protected. WEBROOT COMPLAINT I have tried in vain to find a reliable vendor for Antivirus, Spyware and Firewall. Webroot, based in Boulder, CO, used to be OK. Now there is a problem with their software. I have been using Webroot Antivirus and Antispyware software on computer systems for many years. Although, it will run scans via the Task Scheduler, it still needs attention to maintain it's ability to keep your system fully protected. Once the scan has detected objects, you must select them and set the program to "always quarantine" in order to make it more automatic. Any new detections must be handled in this manner. Also, definitions are updated automatically, however program software updates must be done via the website, which is a selling tool, to offer you new and improved software, throughout the course of your current subscription. It has a useless "back up" feature, which is another selling tool, for you to buy an online "back up" subscription. This works best for an advanced user.

I have tried in vain to find a reliable vendor for Antivirus, Spyware and Firewall. Webroot, based in Boulder, CO, used to be OK. Now there is a problem with their software. It will not update automatically, is very slow, and the firewall is flaky. The firewall continually crashes. Technical Support is virtually non-existent, with a 1-2 hour wait time on the telephone. You can pay for support, but it is $29.95 per pop. Advice: buy something else e.g. Kapersky, or use free AVG Antivirus and Spybot Search & destroy. |
