I am now in the process of wearing out my third copy of Webster's Crossword Dictionary. If you do the New York Times puzzle or the Atlantic Monthly or the Harper's puzzles, you'll find this dictionary the most helpful, particularly useful when you are only interested in possibilities of a certain number of letters.

The May 1997 edition book is the best refernce that I had available to me. It has gotten so worn in 20 years time that I had to look for another edition. ---- and I found it----- at Amazon.com George F. Moore, P

No slang, no foreign word or phrases, some common words just missing-bought it as a gift for daily crossword fanatic and get to hear what is missing from it on more that one occasion give it a miss.

I purchased this book to replace a copy that I has for many years that had seen better days I would not be without it

This was a gift for someone that loves to do crossword puzzles. I am told it is very helpful and she is grateful for the gift and help it gives her.

I bought this crossword puzzle dictionary for my Mom, and she is very happy with it. It came to her promptly, it was inexpensive, and it was what she wanted. Sometimes my Mom is a hard person to please.

The content is excellent. My husband has the second edition by the same author and has worn it to a frazzle and I was hoping to throw that one away when this one arrived but since it is not as easy to read because of the size of the print and the size of the book (pockekbook size whereas the last one was 6x9)I think that is not going to happen! I had searched every bookstore for this book but did not find it so I was pleased to find it on Amazon.com. He has numerous other books but none of them satisfy his need as much as this one. So therefore, I am disappointed with the book. He will go back to the old one. Would you like to see an old delapidated book sitting on your table all the time? No, No.

The USPS service was very slow but of course it was at Christmas time. Thanks for the opportunity to comment.

Being crossword addicts, we find this to be the most used of all of our reference books. Easy to hold and simple to use.

The print in this addition is too small to be read by most elderly people.

Couldn't do our daily crossword without this book. The last one I had became so worn it started to come apart, so was very glad to see it's still being published and so reasonably priced.
