Book Description

Lacey Van der Zyl, is keen to escape from her domineering father and Mortimer, the man she’s going to marry. Interviewing a wealthy landowner, Tate Maddox, at his beautiful estate near the Kruger National Park is a perfect opportunity to escape her unhappy life. But Tate Maddox is a man with a past of his own to deal with. He's not keen to share his world with Lacey – even if she is the daughter of South Africa's most influential celebrity magazine editor. Even so, if he wants his new luxury tourist lodges to be successful, he knows he has no choice other than to accommodate this unwelcome intrusion into his life. With a handsome man as her host, and Tate's magnificent home at her disposal, Lacey knows she should be happy. But bitter memories from her past, and Tate's dark, brooding presence, cast shadows over the African sun. The secrets that each one carries are so great, so burdensome, that they have formed an invisible wall between them: one that only the truth can ever hope to destroy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing June 27, 2014
By Judy
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Sons of Africa was my first Shirley Carnegie novel and it was thrilling, full of history and I couldn't put it down.. I loved it. What a disappointment A Wedding In Africa was, I can't believe it was written by the same author. I've never read Mills and Boone but this is the type of story I would expect for that type of frivolous nonsense. Don't waste your time on this one but do read Sons of Africa

2.0 out of 5 stars Easy reading Africa novel May 15, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This will be a good read for anyone not knowing South Africa and its culture and a nice easy read for those knowing the past "cross border" goings on. The Kruger Park and Eastern Transvaal have always been great areas for animal and human story telling. If you like the original Wilbur Smith books you will like this one.

This book is what I call brain candy. Fun to read but not much substance. We knew she would get her man and he his woman.

Well constructed plot and plenty of action. Thoroughly enjoyable and page turning with a great twist at the end, loved it.
