I've been waiting for many years for this album to be released on CD. My sisters and I know every word to every song, and this Christmas was made all the more special when I surprised them both with this 1976 favorite. From the bass beat of the opening track ("Rainbow in Your Eyes") to the island rhythm of "Love's Supposed to Be That Way" to the sultry "Satisfy You," Leon and Mary don't fail to satisfy. I don't know how long their marriage lasted, but it was worth it if only to put out this collection of love songs. Their harmonies are mesmerizing, and you will HAVE to dance to many of these tracks. Yes, there are a couple of schmaltzy ones in the mix, but overall, it's an amazing collection of work. You can tell they were crazy about each other.

Rocking Good Harmony from a Master.,

Leon is one of my all time unsung heroes, I have all the albums and have seen him live on several occasions. The Wedding Album was a constant car tape when it first came out and I am blasted that we meet up again. The tracks are sheer exuberant honky tonk good times and the pairing was truly inspirational. Leon at his finest, put it on replay and learn to love this warm strong rocker, the vocals and backing are just awesome. On a goood system they rattle the rafters and send your spirits up there too!! YES You love this album in a place where there's no space or time!

At Last!,

I have been searching for this on LP for the last 28 years. Someone "borrowed" mine from my collection. Most places I contacted had never heard of it. Some looked at me like I was crazy. I have told my wife about this album and the version of "Daylight". Now finally she can hear what I have been searching for. This is one of the most soulful albums every produced (have over 5000 albums in collection, know what I'm talking about). Buy it while you caan!!

Love this album. Since purchasing it, I have listened to it over and over and haven't tired of it. I remember hearing it as a child in the 70's on my parents' turntable, and am enjoying revisiting it as an adult. Russell purists may balk at the inclusion of his then-wife, but I find it adds another layer to his genius.

Leon at his best,

This album was not exactly a chart-topper when it was released, but when I listened to it back when, I was instantly hooked by the great harmony between Leon and Mary. The back and forth, both vocally and instrumentally, as they both play a mean piano, is captivating. The lyrics on this disc reveal their emotions and tell the story of their "Wedding". Anyone who digs Leon Russell will love this album, he sounds upbeat and excited to be singing with Mary, who has her own style and unique voice. A rare find, as I have been looking on Amazon and other sites for over a year and when it surfaced, I grabbed it up immediately. Highly recommended for all Leon fans!

At last the wait is over for one of Leon's great albums. Leon and Mary sing beautifully on this album and there are some fine songs. Surely 'Rainbow in your Eyes' would be a great duet for some quality artists? 'Windsong' must rate with others like 'Hummingbird', even 'A song for you'. 'Quiet Nights' is such a beautiful acknowledgement of a child. I urge you to buy this while it is still available, as I did. Like many others I have searched for this on CD for years and now I have it!!. By the way, It was so good to see Leon in Sydney, Australia a few weeks ago - after a wait of about 40 years for me.

I ordered Leon & Mary Russell's "Wedding Album" basically because only now in 2011 I heard the original version of "Rainbow in Your Eyes", a song I love since Al Jarreau recorded and released on his 1976 album "Glow". It was the same year Leon released but here in Brazil it was never aired on radio stations and I can say that 'cause I've been workin' as a radio announcer since 1978 but in 1972 I was a fanatic for music already. The surprise was to hear such a great album knowing the intention was to put Mary on the spotlight. The thing is she married to Leon Russell and he simply doesn't know NOT TO DO his best. So you start listening to the album and you just repeat it and repeat it again and again. Sincerely it's as tasty as a chocolate cake. Yummy!

This is definitely a time period piece, but well worth the time to listen to. Some great lyrics and enthusiastic musicianship combine to make this a fun album to listen to. The feelings so enthusiatically represented here should make most listeners glad they heard it, and for fans of the great Leon Russell its a pop treat!

In 1976 I saw Leon & Mary Russell in concert right after they had released this album. The songs on it continue to be my favorites from Leon Russell and I am so glad that this album was re-released in 2007. I have listened to it over and over. Song one is my favorite!
