Wedding Bouquets -- Over 300 Designs for every bride,
By Fleur (Katrina Land) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wedding Bouquets: Over 300 Designs for Every Bride (Paperback)
The photos are excellent but the specifics are poor. As a florist, I wanted to know the exact name of each rose color, and would have liked the botanical name of the flowers as well. Although the editorial review says there are price indicators, I have not found them & have read every page. This would have been helpful info, too. A side view of each bouquet would be informative also. The "language of flowers" info is repetitive and could have been listed in a table at the back of the book. And I've never had a bride pick her flowers based on their meaning anyway. But it's a good book to show brides for ideas.

The only book on wedding bouquets I needed!,

This review is from: Wedding Bouquets: Over 300 Designs for Every Bride (Paperback)
This little paperback had more stunning bridal bouquet ideas than all the other expensive hardbound books I bought put together. While I understand that florists may find the lack of instructions or specific flower names frustrating - it was simply perfect for a bride looking for designs from simply elegant to wildly creative. I would recommend it to all brides as well as to all florists looking for a nice compilation of exquisite bouquets.

If you are looking for pictures of bouquets this is the book for you. Watch out though. This book is a compilation of bouquets from a popular wedding magazine produced in the UK and they often use the true botanical name instead of the common flower names as we know them. No instruction but they do list the style of bouquet and flowers in them. Great to get ideas from.

Pretty but not exciting,
By DK (Bay area, CA USA) - See all my reviews

I bought this book when I was trying to plan my wedding, reading all the reviews I felt that it could be an excellent resource. On the good side, the pictures are really beautiful with close ups of each arrangement. It is also very well organized with each section focusing on the main colors in the bouquet. Unfortunately, I found the bouquets themselves to be completely unexciting, I got more ideas flipping through wedding magazines. There was not a single arrangment that I ended up showing my florist as an example.

Nice pick for the size and price,

As a professional special event florist who specializes in weddings, this is another book I keep in my consultation room for brides to browse and reference. I'm partial to design books that contain a lot of photos so this one earns high marks from me, but the drawbacks are it's size (small, which means the photos are also small) and that it's a paperback so it doesn't hold up to wear and repeat usage like a hardbound book. Most of the designs are current and contemporary, which is nice after seeing so many outdated wedding design books from the 80's and 90's still on bookstore shelves, but some of the designs lack "that certain something" that make the bouquets really stand out and personalized to the bride. As a designer I'm never super excited about anything cookie-cutter (see cover photo as an example) because it can easily become a crutch for clients who aren't confident making floral selections and also a crutch for florists who don't want to spend the quality time needed for a proper consultation. However, if used as an initial reference for size, shape, and to build designs from, the book will certainly provide that and a bit more. Based on what I've observed from brides browsing and using this book during consultations at my location, easy-to-please brides usually find a few styles in the book that they like, but fussier brides browse through the book quickly (rarely stopping on any one style) and move on to other books. It is a nice little book for the price though -- quality photography and an overall good value.

Cute Little Book,
By Carol "carol's flowers" (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wedding Bouquets: Over 300 Designs for Every Bride (Paperback)
This is a cute little almost pocket sized book that has a lot of finished bouquets and most of the flowers used in each one. It also offers suggestions of which type of dress style would be good with which bouquet. It is organized by color sections. If you like the Wedding Flowers magazine, you will enjoy this convient sized book. It would be a great tool to show a bride looking for the perfect bouquet.

Wedding bouquet inspiration,
By Jessica Howe (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wedding Bouquets: Over 300 Designs for Every Bride (Paperback)
No idea what kind of bouquet to choose? No problem. This book offers hundreds of full-colour pictures of stunning wedding bouquets. You might want to think about what kind of wedding you want before you pick it up, but if you have a theme, style and colour scheme in mind this is a great little book to turn to for floral inspiration. It's small, lightweight and packed with ideas - whatever colour scheme or style you're after there's bound to be a bouquet here that's perfect. It's also useful to take to your florist so you can point to the kind of thing you want as that way misunderstandings are avoided.

Great Ideas and wonderful colored pages.,
By Jamie (WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wedding Bouquets: Over 300 Designs for Every Bride (Paperback)
Each section of this book is categorized by colors, starting with white, ivory and cream, then yellow, then peach and orange, then red, then pink, then lilac and purple, and finally mixed and unusual. I knew my colors right off the bat but I still was inspired by every page. It's only real flaw is it's size, which once you get it and look through it, doesn't create that much of an issue. Not only does it give you flower ideas but also a variety of ways to create a handle and tie the bouquet. A good book for a bride who is doing all the arranging, like I am, or just brainstorming ideas with her florist.
