Mary Norden, a succesful textile designer, has been commissioned by Liberty, Ralph Lauren, Christian Dior, and Yves Saint Laurent. She has written for Homes & Gardens and is the author of Gift Wraps: Baskets & Bows and Decorative Embroidery.Sandra Lane is a successful still-life photographer. Her work appears in magazines such as Elle Decoration and Homes & Gardens, and she has photographed several of Mary Nodens's previous books. She lives in London.

This book was packed full of pictures of tablesettings, centerpieces, favors, placecards, etc. All of the little details and ideas for the reception tables were great! Don't expect much planning advice. Good for someone looking for decor ideas. The book is also smaller than most, which makes it easier to carry when meeting with the florist or catering manager.

I think many of the ideas are only practical and affordable if you have a tiny guest list. The pictures show weddings that are in a house, not a large ball room. There was a few ideas on how to present seating arrangements that I found useful, but most of these I had seen for free on the internet. Some of the ideas include attaching bunches of flowers to chair backs for the reception, or putting a flower in each guests napkin. Although these are great ideas, anyone who is budget minded will have trouble adapting most of the ideas to a large scale wedding.
I think this book is great for those planning a very small wedding (under 50 people) or have no money restrictions.

I have a small wedding business and found this book very helpful. It is a very simple short book but it is loaded with great ideas for weddings and receptions. Pictures are excellent, lots of new ideas to try, I would recommend it as a resource guide and was very happy to receive it as a gift off my wish list.
