Other reviewers have left low marks, noting that this is a very small little book on wedding flowers. It IS a small book - the description very clearly states 64 pages and less than 6" diameter - so I'm not sure why they were expecting something else. Having seen Antonia Swinson's floral design work in other books, and noting that this book's price is also very small, I purchased a copy for myself. I'm planning to do my own flower arranging for my wedding ceremony and reception brunch, so I've purchased a total of 5 wedding flower books for examples and instructions.
This book is one I was particularly delighted with when it arrived. Yes, it is small, and includes very little information on how-to - it's more of a gift book and one you would use to get good ideas on color and texture combinations. For what it intends, it is actually fantastic! The photos are beautiful and the arrangements are absolutely top-notch - from extremely traditional to modern and cutting edge, this is a surprisingly wonderful grouping of arrangements. Having looked through many other wedding floral books, I saw a lot of them that had outdated colors/arrangements, or where only 1 in 5 examples was really very pretty, or worst of all, where the arrangements are gorgeous but you'd have to have gazillions of dollars to replicate them. Every page of this little book is beautiful, and I found several of the bouquets very appealing and inspiring. I especially appreciated that a examples are given for each season. Taking cues from the greenery, berries, and accents used, you could easily substitute your own flower choice or tweak colors for a completely custom look. A few examples are also given for: bridesmaids (usually just slightly smaller bouquets than the bride) and flower girls, hair pieces with flowers, boutonnieres (great ideas!) and corsages, and reception table flowers. Again, these are example photos for you or your florist, not step-by-step how-to's. For the size and price, I found these examples exceptionally done and well worth it. I will probably keep this book even after my wedding because it's just so beautiful to look at.

This book was such great inspiration for all the flowers for my wedding. I really like the modern flower arrangements and that there are big, bold pictures shown in the context that they will be used - for instance there are table center pieces shown on a fully decorated table so I could see the "full picture" and gave me additional ideas of how to decorate. I also like the flower/plant index in the back by season - that really helped me know what flowers/plants I could use for my fall wedding.

This book is small! I wish I had paid a little more attention to the reviews as i would not have gotten this book due to the size. The flowers are beautiful, but the pictures are flat, like they are lacking in a color, lacking in richness and depth. Do your self a favor and check it out from your local library. I don't know if the printing is defective or what. But the flowers themselves, the arrangements, etc are beautiful. This authors work is wonderful.

I've seen some of these pictures in other books. The book size is small, approximately 5.5 x 5.5 so the visual detail isn't very good. The book does describe the flowers used.
