A very pleased bride, January 8, 2003
This review is from: Wedding Planner (Personal Organizer) (Personal Organizer) (Personal Organizer Ser) (Spiral-bound)
I began to look into a planner even before my fiance proposed to me. I would spend hours in books stores looking at various wedding type books especially planners. I choose this one because it was straight foward. I liked the pocket dividers that are provided for each section, which by the way I use to keep all the contracts and other paper work in. At first I was leaning towards the fancier planners but realized that I'm going to have to lug those cumbersome three-binder sized things around. Instead of a bride, I may be mistaken for the coordinatoor or the invitation lady. This one fits perfectly in my tote bag that I also purchased for wedding appointments. I also like the Invitation section it has space for 126 names and addresses. I really didn't need alot of the illustrations and magazine type pictures that were included in a lot of the other planners. I mean come on, we brides already have stacks of those bridal magazines under our beds. We don't need to lug one around in our planners as well. Most other planners also double as a wedding guide book thus all the bulk and weight. I decided I just needed a straight foward planner and then purchased a guide book seperately. This way I can take the planner with me to appointments and leave the guide book at home.

Very Helpful Planner, March 27, 2003

A friend gave me this when I got engaged - she had used it and loved it - I loved it and am now buying it for a girlfriend. The pockets were great to keep track of vendor quotes, notes, and other paperwork. The fill-in-the-blank lists prompted me to keep track of phone #s and other important info.
I highly recommend the planner - it really helped me in organizing my wedding last summer.

Pretty but not perfect, June 13, 2004

I bought this wedding planner after reading the reviews and agreeing that I wasn't looking for a guidebook with advice as much as important checklists and a place to keep everything organized. While I like the general layout there are a few problems:
1) When I first received my planner, some of the pages already looked dirty because the ink from the pockets had rubbed off on them. I know that's picky, but just like my wedding, I wanted everything to be perfect. I've been using pencil sometimes when I wanted the option to erase, but it's just getting dirtier and uglier.
2) While the pockets are great, it's hard to tell what's in them since they aren't clear and little things like business cards can get lost at the bottom.
3) I liked the smaller size of the planner, but then realized that contracts and other documents are all on standard 8.5x11 paper, which means I've had to fold everything to fit them in the pockets, which is actually kind of a hassle and again, not as neat as possible.
4) While the divider tabs are also a good idea, they need to be stronger. After heavy use, mine are now frayed and ugly-looking.
5) While for the most part, the divisions are great, it seemed a bit crazy to have "Flowers, Music, and Photography" all squished into one section. The actual planning pages are fine, but there's only one little pocket for each section and I have tons of papers to keep track of in each of these three categories.
All in all, I think this is one of the prettier, affordable planners out there, but I would probably opt for a binder version in the future that would allow me to customize things a bit more. This book would be great to finish as a keepsake (if mine weren't already well-used), but it's not the best organizer out there.
