3.0 out of 5 stars Because I found some humor but I still didn't get the H, October 21, 2011
This review is from: A Wedding to Remember (Hardcover)
Joanna needed to make sure she was really ready to move on and marry Brad, but first she had to make sure she was free of her ex-husband, Rory Grayson. She and Rory had divorced because she believed that he had cheated on her w/ another woman. It didn't help that she also believed that he thought his business was more important than she was. Rory "wife-naps" Joanna and proves to her that neither are truly free of the other. He also shows that he has no problem fibbing to cover for her and he seems to be a prankster.

I thought it was romantic that he did up her dream home in hope that she would return to him, but then I didn't like that he had other women there and that there was evidence of that. Joanna got over that and Rory had to deal w/ the fact that she may be comparing him to Brad.

***SPOILERS***

Rory had gone on a dating thing to get another client and he explained that well, BUT he did not have to go home w/ one of the women who turned out to be Joanna's supposed friend, Poppy. I still can't understand why he went home w/ Poppy. Poppy claimed that Rory invites honesty because he is so "self-knowingly honest himself" - yet he lied to Brad and obviously he didn't invite honesty w/ that psycho OW. I never really felt like Rory fought for Joanna at least not in the story, maybe off story in flashbacks or something but it didn't seem like it was very much. Rory believed that Joanna has a hard core of integrity - but she slept w/ him while she is engaged to Brad.

He NEVER admits to any flaws in marriage. It seemed like Joanna took on more of the blame for their failed marriage. He never seems to admit that he too was at fault for leaving themselves open to the manipulations and lies by this psycho OW.

So in the end Joanna had decided to fight for her man, but one wonders if Rory fought for her
There were several very humorous moments in this story. Rory just seems to have a sense of humor about a lot of things and it seems to lighten the story some.
