More About the Author

I grew up with three sisters; an older, a younger, and a twin, in a house with only one bathroom. I now live with my husband and two stepsons (and thankfully, two bathrooms), and have constant girl stuff withdrawal, which you'll find my books often reflect.

I write light, fun books, that I hope put smiles on peoples faces.

Rachel

P.S. A little tidbit about the McMaster the Disaster trilogy: at least one of the embarassing moments of each book in the trilogy are my own personal embarassing story come to life on the pages of Josie's journal. I will go to my grave before admitting which ones. :o)

I had waited for this book to come out! I fell in love with this series and was so happy to find the third book was out! I loved it! It was cute, funny, and just good hearted reading. I am hoping for another installment in this series! If you are looking for a good laugh, good characters and a book that leaves you feeling good I recommend this book!!!

Not as good as the first installment but better than the second. The interaction of the secondary characters is entertaining. The finale -- the wedding -- is over the top but sweet. All the loose ends are wrapped up.

I must say that this was my least favorite out of the entire series but a fun read none-the-less. I felt like her boyfriend needed a little more substance and I wanted to find out how the autobiography she wrote did - if it ever got published. As always, Mattie is the go-to friend. I just adore his character in this book.

After reading all the 3 books I kept thinking how great it would be to have this be made into a movie! I could totally picture it happening.

Overall, this entire series was F-U-N!

The story line of these books is fine, hardly any kissing or sex or damaged goods, which is nice to get away from for a minute, but truly what I usually go for. However, in the end of chapter two, the author switches from normal font to italic to emphasize an entry in her journal. The problem was when she never switched back. FOR THE REST OF THE BOOK. This may not be an issue for some people. It made an extremely difficult read for me.

This book was a nice ending to the trilogy. While I didn't like it as much as the first book in the series, I definitely enjoyed it more than the first. I had to set aside my disbelief quite a few times in this book, as you would expect for any of these types of contemporary romance novels, but there were a few parts that were just SO ridiculous.

WARNING: Potential Spoilers ahead..

For example, at one point in the book Josie goes on about how she was raised to be self-sufficient and she doesn't want to be someone else's burden, which is why she decides she needs to get a job so she can pay her rent... (makes sense so far) ..until she gets married. (Now she's lost me...) Apparently once you're actually married to a hard-working rich guy, it's okay to not be self-sufficient anymore.

Then, it gets even better just a few pages later when Josie tags along with her rich and famous fiance to Bali where he's filming a movie. How can she afford this trip if she can't even pay her rent?? Apparently being self-sufficient only applies to the necessities in life, like food and shelter. If someone will pay for you to go on vacation for 3 weeks, then it's totally cool to be a mooch and expect them to pay your way..?!

However - setting all of this aside, I still read this book like a guilty pleasure. I think I had a love-hate relationship with it, but either way, I still enjoyed it.

Rachel Astor wrote the best romance series I ever purchased. I laughed, cried, got pissed off with the characters and fell back in love with them numerous time. I enjoyed following as McMaster struggled with pleasing her mom and BFF as they planned her wedding along with her foolish mistakes. Even though this character indeed is a disaster I loved just the same. My heart was broken when her relationships with her roommate and fiancé fell apart almost gave up on reading the novel but I stuck it through and was happy that I did. This series belongs on the BIG SCREEN whoever buys the rights to this novel will make millions in the box office.
