Maybe you've heard this group already and don't know it! These young men growing up in the Ozarks started a band called "Easier Said." When they were signed to a record label they became "The Wedding." Do not think this group name implies timid tunes, on the contrary, their heavy beats and electric guitar riffs are spectacular. I get a kick out of the names bands come up with these days. A group of young guys calling themselves 'The Wedding'? Cute:) I read somewhere that they got it out of the book of Revelation.
One review I read said that they are 'punk, indie, emo, modern rock and hardcore'. yeah, they have a lot of different influences. but i noticed on a few songs that the lead...

This album shows the versitility of these talented men as each song has its own unique flavor. No matter who you are, young/old, male/female, rocker/popper/rapper/folker...you will find a favorite song on this album. I am impressed that several of the songs written and performed by these young men, were actually written when they were still yet teenagers! This is an up-and-coming group! DON'T MISS OUT!!!

I get a kick out of the names bands come up with these days. A group of young guys calling themselves 'The Wedding'? Cute:) I read somewhere that they got it out of the book of Revelation.
One review I read said that they are 'punk, indie, emo, modern rock and hardcore'. yeah, they have a lot of different influences. but i noticed on a few songs that the lead singer's voice sounded ex-actly like RK's Matt Thiessen. (Not all the time, though!) in my opinion, they lean more towards punk rock. It probably helps that Relient K helped them out with production. Matt T. even sang on track 10.
My favorite tracks are # 2, 3, 6, 10(just cos of Matt!) and my overall fav is #11. I have it timed perfectly. When I drive by the Sears building in town, I turn #11 on, and it finishes the moment I pull into my driveway, so I get out with a satisfied feeling.
This isn't one of my favorite CD's... but I think these guys have a heck of a lot of talent, and they're sooo young. They will get a lot better with their next few CD's. It's cool to watch a band grow, and I'm sticking with The Wedding, because they are going to grow immensely. And I think they could end up being a hit like RK, even in the mainstream like Switchfoot did.

This cd is soo, soo good, the Wedding rocks! I saw them in concert and they are great in concert too. These guys are just a bunch of good Christians trying to spread the word one song at a time. I would definetly get this one, there are so many good songs that talk about Jesus, it's just too sweet!

5.0 out of 5 stars Christian Music, September 1, 2005
This review is from: Wedding (Audio CD)
I think that the whole point of Christian music, is CHRISTIAN MUSIC. I think that it is great that non christians like the music, but the music is meant to minister to christians and non christians alike. I like the way that their music is laid back and it is awesome that these guys can sing and praise God in the way that they are. Thank God, for these Christian Singers that want to reach out to the teens.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this band!, September 28, 2011

This is the first album by The Wedding and it's a little punk-ish, but its great stuff! I bought it because I already own their third album "Polarity" and their fourth "The Sound the Steel" and love them both, so I wanted to see what their earlier work would sound like and I'd heard "Song for the Broken" and liked it a lot! Some good listening!

5.0 out of 5 stars keep BOTH eyes open for these guys in the future, November 17, 2005
This review is from: Wedding (Audio CD)
This is an amazing debut from a great rock band. These guys perfectly combine punk, emo, hardcore, & indie. Think Kids in the Way meets Hawk Nelson meets Dashboard Confessional meets The Rocket Summer. It has some excellent enthusiastic punk anthems as well as some softer emo ballads. My favorite song is probably "One Eye Open," although it's pretty hard to pick a favorite with a CD this good. The lead singer, Kevin Keihn, has such an amazing voice and the whole CD is just packed with so much raw energy, passion, and emotion. Out of the hundreds of Christian rock CD's I've collected over the past 10 years, this is my favorite CD of all time. There's something special about EVERY song. It seems like I have a new favorite song off this CD every couple weeks. And the CD never gets old. Get your hands on this CD ASAP. You won't regret it.
