I bought this CD because I wanted something to help me remember the songs I used to sing some odd 30 years ago as a child for my baby. I have been playing this CD for my son since he was born, and now his face just lights up every time we put it in (He is 11 months now). The book that comes along with it is wonderful. It has great suggestions on how to play with your baby with several songs, the notes let you play along if you have a piano at home, and the songs are great for play groups too. The CD starts with fun play songs, and ends with soft sleeping music. I also love this CD because it is filled with songs I grew up with. The musical arrangements are so pleasant to listen to you can truly listen to it over and over again.

Close, but no cookie,

I had read reviews in many places praising highly this series, along with recommendations from friends. While the book and songs are indeed well done and complete, I was suprised and disappointed by the style of music.
Unfortunately, as with most "children's music" today, it is loud, synthesized and busy sounding. Now, this may work well with toddlers, but for 0-9 months? I tried playing it for my baby (3 months) and he became irritated each time. So I ended up using this CD simply as a refresher course, singing the songs myself. I will save the CD for when he is a toddler... perhaps he will enjoy the style of music then. If you are looking for a simple, easy to listen to, gentle CD to play with your baby, this is definately not it. If you are looking for a professionally produced, well researched, active and busy CD for your 1yr old +, you are likely to enjoy this CD series.

Annoying dialogue between rhymes,

I wish this were just a collection of joyful nursery rhymes for my 14 mo. daughter. Instead, there is annoying dialogue between each rhyme which tries to connect together the collection and make it into a story about a group of children going to visit the king. It gets old! I can't imagine listening to this very often.
