Product Description

The Weed Z-ONE35 EXT offers one of the largest sweetspots available on the market today. The 28mm widebody cross-section creates a very solid feel at ball impact, almost anywhere on the racquet face. The super-oversized head, combined with the quickness of the ultra-light weight and the 28.25 inch length, make volleying a snap (and groundstrokes, and serves, and overheads, and half volleys...).

One might assume that larger faced rackets are for beginners or lower rated players, say 2.5-3.0. But that's not the case. I am a 4.0 player and have used numerous rackets ranging from 90 square inch Wilsons to 110 square inch Head rackets. I tried a friend's WEED Z-One35, the previous iteration of the newer WEED EXT 135 BLUE and within seconds felt absolute control and power and spin-ability unlike any racket I've used in my 40+ years of playing competitive tennis. Expect a few of your purist friends to mock you for using a 135 square inch face, but once your topspin shots jump over their shoulders, a la Nadal, you'll get the last laugh. The WEED 135 is very light and easy to negotiate. I have a fast swing and the 135 holds the ball well for control and pace and extreme topspin. Serving and volleying will feel different instantly. Your strokes, volleys, and serves will have more pop and spin I guarantee it. With new racket prices now edging into the $200-$250 range, the WEED is competitively priced. Be sure you have a professional string your WEED. It does require some modifications-- see manufacturer's notes. With a 135 inch head, you'll find off hits less frequent and the sweet spot more easily found. This is a racket that would certainly benefit beginners or weaker players, but advanced players can employ this racket to their advantage to strengthen their already proficient level of play.
