I found this book in my school's outdated library. It's about a teenage girl in the sixties who is alienated from her stereotypical white middle class suburban family. Her dad is a racist obsessed with impressing his boss, her brother follows her dad, and her mom is equally shallow. The main character starts dressing like a Bohemian, hanging out with a group of kids who are into poetry and the civil rights movement, and ends up dating a boy who accidentally robbed a bank. Fairly well written, if full of cliches. For two dollars, why not buy it?
