Not Worth It!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Weekend Crafter: Macrame: 20 Great Projects to Knot (Paperback)
The projects in this book were boring and not all that well planned. I don't like their dependence on white glue to finish off their edges. This has a tendency to unravel with time. I also don't like how they have combined sewing with macramé. Sewing is okay sometimes, but it can look strange or be difficult to do with a tightly knotted piece. Overall, I'd say this book has very little to offer, certainly nothing new or innovative. "The Macramé Book," by Helene Bress has a lot more useful information and project ideas. It also explains how to make the knots in the most comprehensive way I have seen. If jewellery is what you really what to make, then "Making Beautiful Hemp & Bead Jewelry," by Mickey Baskett is also really great.

I have used this book with 7th- through 12th-graders teaching them how to make bookmarks/friendship bracelets. They LOVE the project, and it was a wonderful way to get students who didn't like to read to pick up a book. The combination of photographs, illustrations and written instructions helped students with a variety of learning styles have positive experiences with reading.
