Find a little gold.
I own all three of Andrew H. Ryan Weekend books. He is a good writer with the ability to bring you right in with his quick read books. Good book for a beginner that wants to get away and find a little gold. I suggest picking up a pan and giving it a try. Estwing Gold Pan 12 Inch Diameter

The Weekend Gold Miner
To be honest with you I found this book to be not as helpful as other books that I have purchased. It is very simple and the maps shown in the book seem to basic and not very informative. Thank you
