This month Anna tackles chicken coops and bread dough, among other things, with her customary clear writing and expansive knowledge. If you'd like to become even a little bit more self-sufficient than you currently are, be sure to snag the Weekend Homesteader every month. I really appreciate Anna's generous sharing of her experience as a homesteader.

Great information and a very readable writing style. I think the book would be more usable if there was a working index..so that i could jump to an article without clicking one page at a time until I find it. However, that aside, I plan on spending my next year with this series and hopefully improving my garden.

Anna returns like an old friend to walk readers through homestead projects that range from gardening, bread making to dumpster diving. She always puts a positive spin on the simple life that makes you crave it. Delightful as always. Give it a read.

I have enjoyed reading all of this ladies books. Relevant information for those starting out in a self sufficient lifestyle, or for those already living it.

I like these weekend homesteader ebooks because they remind me of what needs to be done seasonally. Its a great series and helps to get you organized. I love that you can do things in small stages and incorporate things into your life without having to be a full time homesteader. Actually, lots of great hints in this series for people who are not homesteaders. Great to read both ahead of time and in season. In the January version I like the section on bread baking. I also like how the author tells you what tasks are good for the beginning homesteader and what tasks are a bit beyond a part time homesteader or beginning homesteader.

I love all the Weekend Homesteader titles. She has great no-nonsense jobs to improve your farm and work toward self-sustainability on your weekend free time. Many of the articles made me look at things in a new way, and I've learned a lot from them!

We always had a garden growing up. (Not a great big acre or more...) and you forget things. This is a great place to jog the memory and learn some new tricks. It even encourages new projects. I recommend this to anyone who would like to feel like they are repared for "hard times" or just want to grow their own salad!! :-)
