Okay, I must admit when I saw the BRIGHT yellow book cover and the word "millionaire" in the title title the first time, I rolled my eyes when a friend handed me the book and said read this. My first thought was oh god, not another book telling me how to be a millionaire overnight (or over the weekend) and it is by a real estate investor no less. When my eyes stopped rolling I began reading. That little negative voice in my head was quickly silenced as soon as I read chapter one and realized that this was more than theory. It was Mike's story. By the end of chapter two I was inspired enough by his story and the clarity of my own story to create a budget and believe that I too could go beyond this ordinary financial existence. Why do so few of us build wealth settling instead for an ordinary American financial existence? I am a believer now and I will be a millionaire by the time I am 60 (or sooner since I am starting at 40) as well. This book is NOT a real estate book. It IS a book that WILL change your mindset and your future...and it CAN change your mindset in a WEEKEND if you allow it to do so. Give this to every high school graduate. Give this book to every teenager before they finance their first car. As Mike says, if you aren't doing well in this country, you are doing something wrong.

Thanks Mr. Summey for sharing your story and for helping me understand what I was doing wrong.

signed, future millionaire in NYC

Most people talk about investing in Real Estate, but many never get past the dream. For many people the best motivator is a good mentor. Mike Summey and Roger Dawson share their lives and their experiences as a good mentor would. As you read the "Weekend Millionaire Mindset" you will see what motivates a millionaire and you will learn how to adjust your own life to acheive success and great wealth. Since reading this book, I have started following some of the life changing suggestions and it really works!

This is not a "how-to" book for getting rich. It is more of a "how-you" book for changing your attitudes and methods for acheiving goals. For a more detailed road map toward success in real estate investing, read "The Weekend Millionaire's Guide to Real Estate Investing."

You can feel the sincerity of the authors, encouraging through words, to create desire, teach you how to set goals and reach those goals.

The real life stories and adventures in the book are fun to read as well as informative. I really enjoyed the "story telling" layout with the bullets of information at the end of each chapter. Almost parable like at times.

Most people will read it and say great book, excellent book, put it down and do nothing afterwards. But for those people not so "most people", this book can give the means to TRANSLATE THOUGHT INTO ACTION and accept personal responsibility for one's own success.

I really appreciated the message in this book. If you're yearning for change and are not sure where to start, then why not start with this one?

I just wanted to say that this is a perfect Follow Up to their last book. In my review of their other book, I mentioned that FEAR was slowing me down. Even though they gave an easy to follow game plan in that book, the fear was still there. I could follow it, and take my mind off of the fear, pretending that it wasn't there, but the moment it had a chance, it started trying to get to me.

This book, it has helped me learn more about myself. It gave me questions that when answered honestly, showed me that nothing was in my way but me.

Check it out. I am sure you won't be disappointed.

"How Ordinary People Can Achieve Extraordinary Success" is just a small clue of the VERY BIG lessons I found in this book. It won't just make you a better investor but can help you be a better person no matter what you do. There is so much inspiration and information crammed in every page of this book. For every investor, this can be the one source to go to as the foundation for your entire business. I know investors who started out using Mike's methods and following the formulas in this book and have become very successful and continue to grow and I could prove it on paper. The results are amazing. I never get tired of talking about it and recommending it to other people.

Mike Summey - this book's co-author with Roger Dawson - has a truly inspirational life story to share. He grew up poor in the coalfields of southern West Virginia, a region of bleak poverty. He hit the road at age 15 to make his fortune. As a young man, he carried a message in his pocket and read it every day: "I will become a millionaire by age 30 and retire by age 50." And so he did, though he had no formal education beyond "a Ph. D. from the University of Hard Knocks." Dawson is also impressive: A noted public speaker, he lectures on peak performance and negotiation. His audio program on negotiating produced more than $28 million in revenues, the best-selling program in the history of business cassette publishing. You can learn much about building wealth from these men. They explain how to develop the mindset you need to become a millionaire, persuasively presenting proven (in fact, familiar) methods and strategies for budgeting, saving, investing and managing your money. getAbstract recommends their advice and their attitude.
