About the Author

Peggy Turco has worked throughout the Hudson Valley as a freelance naturalist for more than 25 years and has lectured widely on the region's ecology and Native American heritage. She is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator and enjoys hiking and canoeing. She is also the author of Walks & Rambles in the Western Hudson Valley and co-authored the second edition of Walks & Rambles in Westchester and Fairfield Counties. She lives in Wappingers Falls, New York.

This is the best book I've ever found on walks in Dutchess County, NY. It includes short, medium and long walks and tells one just about everything one would want to know about the sites of the walks. It also tells you where to watch out for snakes, etc. It is also small enough to keep in your pocket. However, it is nicely bound so it will not fall apart under stress. This is a keeper and a great gift idea.
