Review

8 Weeks to Women's Wellness is a book that both awakens and teaches.

This isn't a book to sit down, read, and then pass on in a "Goodwill" box or book sale.  You will want to keep it handy on the shelf so you can review it again and again. --Carol Petersen, Women's International Pharmacy

From the Author

This book is very personal to me and the hundreds of patients I have treated over the years who had a health condition linked to chemicals in the environment.
My patients asked me to write this book.
It is for them.
My mission is to educate women, men and children of the common sources of exposure in the home, at work, and through hobbies and other activities.
It will blow your mind, the things you didn't know.
It will change your life if you are willing to make a few dietary and lifestyle changes.
The 8 week detoxification plan is simple and easy to follow and you will feel better.
Some may have a health condition improve, some may lose weight, and some may simply have more energy.
Spread the word and lets get these chemicals out of our food, air, water and household products.
Simple steps to improve your health

I learned alot from this book. I didn't realize some of my cosmetics and beauty products had harmful chemicals in them. This book was layed out well so I could easily correlate the toxins with certain health problems and how I am exposed to these toxins and even what a toxin is. I am glad Dr. Marchese offered options/alternatives to cleaning products and cosmetics and explained the difference between plastic water bottles. Such an informative book. I dind't realize I need a filter on my shower. I already made the diet changes and feel better. The 8 week detox plan is straight forward and simple. Great book.

Book Review - Carol Petersen, RPh, CNP
As I write this, the whole country is wondering about the long-term environmental impacts of the earthquakes and tsunami in Japan. A blog by Dr. David Brownstein, a Board-Certified family physician and one of the foremost practitioners of holistic medicine, recommends precautions to minimize the health effects that may arise from the damaged Japanese nuclear reactors. Supplies of iodine are being bought up quickly with the intention of protecting ourselves from the radioactive fallout. We are becoming more environmentally aware, and asking questions.
We are finding it is no longer blissful to be ignorant, and we are worried about what we don't know about what we don't know.
Dr. Marchese's book, 8 Weeks to Women's Wellness, organizes some of those questions for us and puts answers into our hands. As more and more of us seem to have health issues associated with hormone disruptions (such as breast cancer, endometriosis and infertility), it's time to consider the "why" this is happening.
Dr. Marchese carefully takes us through women's health concerns, telling us about toxins, solvents and metals we may have been exposed to, how we may have been exposed, and how this exposure has impacted our health. But, best of all, she puts her guidance into our hands so we can do something about it.
She provides nutritional guidance, and resources for cleaner water and air in your home, workplace and surroundings. She provides detailed instructions for sauna, hydrotherapy, castor oil packs and coffee enemas, which are some of the tools for reducing the body's toxic substance burden. In essence, she supplies all the information we need to take action.
This isn't a book to sit down, read, and then pass on in a "Goodwill" box or book sale.

Dr. Marchese's book is an excellent addition to my health library. This particular book is so great because it is easy to follow - there's not too much information to overwhelm me and yet there's enough to educate me appropriately. I am also excited that this important information comes from not only a Woman but a Naturopathic Doctor! Excellent book.

Dr. Marchese has complied a combination of facts and resources enabling you to not only understand why you have become ill, but also to begin a path to restoring your health. She helps the reader to understand why it is no longer an option to wait and treat symptoms as the toxic effects of today's chemical accumulate within and causes a loss of normal body functions. Using clear examples we find out that often these toxins are altering our nervous, immune, digestive and elimination systems resulting in the failure of our body to be able to adapt to the environment.

Begin your own plan to reduce and remove the pollution from yourself and family, I have added this book to my recommended reading list for patients serious about creating a long and vibrant life.
