I do a lot of shipping, ceramic products so the boxes end up being very big sometimes. It's great that the front comes off and is wireless so I can see the weight easily. I even weighed my oldest cat, he's 18lbs by the way. Love this scale, glad I bought it. Just what I needed.

There are better scales out there,

This postage scale lacked functions that other scales for the same price or similar price range have, and it was inaccurate with 3 of the 4 times something was weighed. I had to weigh items several times to get an idea of how much it weighed before purchasing postage online. Sometimes the difference was off by more than .6 oz, and other times, it was off by .2 oz. I even had several issues with "postage due" for packages I've mailed out using this scale to weigh to buy postage online. The one I received was probably defective, but I'm not going to risk dealing with the inaccuracy and headache again. Save your time and the headaches for something else, and spend the extra $10 for a better scale.

This scale is just what I needed. My primary use will be to determine shipping weights for items sold on ebay but it should also be helpful "around the house". Seems to be a good value.

Good enough for the price, but nothing amazing,

The scale is inexpensive and REALLY basic, but it does its job well enough. You get what you pay for, right?
I have tried placing the same package on the scale 4-5 times, and get a different read on it most of the time. More often than not, it's only off by a fraction of an ounce, but still, when I'm shipping something that can make a difference. I like that it's battery operated, and that the digital readout separates from the scale unit. All in all, a good value, but not a great product.

These scales were so useful in weighing foster kittens in our home that we purchased another for the local Humane Society clinic. Much more accurate than more expensive scales they had been using! Didn't really need the 55 lb limit for this but it doesn't hurt when weighing packages.

Item is described as it says in the ad.,
The meter requires 2 CR-2032 lithium batteries and the scale can only operator w/the accompaniment of the AC adaptor. Overall, I give this product fair rating.

I purchased this scale over a year ago primarily for my Ebay business. I have used it 1000 times and it is a very good, quality machine. Love the fact that I can remove the readout panel for larger boxes. Weighs items up to 55 lbs and is very accurate (having many times compared my weights to the USPS postal scales to confirm my readings). The only drawback is that it does not weigh below 5 grams (only in 5 gram increments) which would be helpful for jewelry type items. Great value for the price.

Reading the reviews, you can tell that people are receiving various versions of this scale.
I received a W-4819, for what it's worth. It did NOT come with an AC adapter, or a battery. It doesn't require an AC adapter, and seems to work just fine on the singe 9V battery. That's fine...I much prefer using batteries. The screen looks like it was made to come off, but it seems permanently attached on mine. No big deal...I don't want it to come off anyways. I like that it will hold the weight on the screen, when weighing large boxes. (But I don't know how to clear it, other than powering ON/OFF.) It turns itself off to preserve battery power. The plastic cover on the LCD screen is thinner than the plastic of a 2-liter soda bottle. It flexes with a slight touch. It seems to work fine. It was cheap, and I got the one fulfilled by Amazon, so I got it super fast!

I love it - small - compact - but does the job perfectly
couldn't rate accuracy because I have nothing to compare it to, however have never had return on postage amount so assume it is accurate

I'm in the process of deciding if this needs to go back. First it arrived, I inserted the batteries and nothing, didn't work, plugged it in and it did work, realized that all the batteries were old and dead. Not good when a new item arrives with batteries included and they don't work! Then, the front panel does remove, it would be nice if it would clip in place too! It slides out if you're not careful. The plastic is slippery and as I turned it over to swap out the 9V battery the front panel fell into my lap. Good thing I was sitting down. As cheap as the plastic is, had I been standing it more than likely would have broken into pieces. Now for the accuracy. I know it states that it is accurate within .02 oz. What they don't tell you is you have to weigh the item several times to guess which weight to believe is within that .02 oz! You can weigh the same item over and over and get a different weight every time. Or my personal favorite, I had a bowl on it and added to it and the weight wouldn't change! Needless to say I didn't get the correct amount I needed in that bowl and my batch of mix was off and I had to start all over again. By the 3rd time of it not coming out right I got tired of wasting things so I went back to my old method learned by my late Grandmother of guessing by how much to use (pinch, handfuls, etc). Not sure if it will still be of any use later for larger items, like mailing packages. I'll soon find out and if it doesn't do those well, this guy will have to go back... minus the 3 batteries I bought to go in it to get it to work in the first place. That really should have been my big warning right there - this one has sat on the shelf for so long that the new batteries included were dead! Might be why the price is so low? Be warned, and if you decide to buy one and it too has problems, don't say you weren't warned.
