A great summary of what I have learned over many years and what I daily tell my patients in my practice as a physician. Realistic, down to earth, practical wisdom! Thank you for this great book!

I've known Stuart McRobert, one of the authors of this book and company head of CS Publishing Ltd., for many years. I got involved with the company over a decade ago sparked by his monumental integrity and unyielding nature to "get things right." Not just right, but right to the point of embodying true excellence. Any project he takes on, and all of his published work to date represents nothing short of masterful! Never does he do something half-hearted or inferior. And that clearly shows in this latest book. When asked to review it, I was sure before ever seeing it that it would be another powerful volume. And my prediction could not have been more correct.

I've seen and read many books on the subject of fitness, health and weight management over the course of my lifetime. And I can honestly count this one as a solidly thorough and practical learning tool. It's definitely not your typical "quick-fix" diet book offering band-aid measures until the next latest and "greatest" fad program comes along. The authors provide readers a "lifestyle plan." And for weight management, health and fitness to remain permanent, that's what any trustworthy book on the subject should cover; long term lifestyle changes not short sighted temporary diversions.

A significant reality with this book so often missing from others covering the subject is the all too important call for exercise. Not only the call or suggestion for it, but the authors lay out some very specific guidelines and programs to follow. And for those who advance from within the weight loss facets of the book, there's a huge treasure trove of inspiration which will lead many receptive readers to move on to a higher level of self responsibility, wellness and fitness.

To quote another reviewer, "This is the same old stuff. There is nothing here that has not been said or written a thousand times before." Though there is some truth to this sentiment, it neglects to point out that there is extensive, critically important material that IS unique to this book. The dynamics for losing weight (reducing calories, increasing activity, getting sufficient sleep, blah, blah...) stand as they always have and will. The important distinction to make though in reading on this subject is to consider "dimension." Does the author(s) offer motivation and inspiration? Is there a plan of action to follow? If so, is it DOABLE over the long term? Is the communication of the material clear and pointed? Can the author substantiate his or her claim? Will the plan yield results? Is there scientific validation? Is the advice given, medically sound?

In reading this book, I find it satisfies all these questions and more. For a subject that HAS been done over and over, I find this book definitely offers a fresh twist. In a nutshell, if you're looking for a book that's inspirational, has a plan of action guiding you toward results, is written in simple understandable English, is authored by someone having firsthand experience with the subject, has an academic background to relate to the subject matter and can ultimately "show you the way," then this book should not be overlooked. Buy it, and it will help you reach that spot in your life which radiates health, happiness and fitness.

I have struggled with obesity for 40 years and have turned to many programs, workbooks, and books to help me lose weight. "Weight-Loss Salvation" is the best book I have ever read on the subject of weight loss. There is no stone unturned - the authors cover all the important issues facing people who want, and/or need, to lose weight. The book is well-researched and well-written. The authors' wealth of knowledge and experience is impressive.

Even the formatting of the book is outstanding. Key points are repeated and/or bolded. Each section is clearly outlined in a sensical manner that is easy to follow. This book is exciting to read. And re-read, as a ready guide for continual reference.

For someone like me, who has struggled with obesity for so long, it was extremely interesting that a person with Brad's formal training and experience could find himself caught in the cycle of binge eating and yo-yo dieting. Actually, that revelation started me on the road to letting myself off the hook, and feel less like a failure as a human being! If Brad could gain weight, then it is no wonder that I did. And, if he can lose weight, so can I!

The tips and ideas - for exercising, for simple low calorie meals and snacks, the recipes - are invaluable. I keep this book as a handbook for ready reference as I work at managing my weight loss and maintenance.

What a great, great book! I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Stuart McRobert is nothing if not thorough. He is a teacher. He made a career in the classroom and ever since has translated those energies into his publishing and personal training businesses.

Teaming up with Bradley Cailor to write Weight-Loss Salvation was a brilliant move. Stuart brought a wealth--and I really mean wealth--of knowledge and experience to bear, and Bradley brought his own hard-won experience and a laser focus. What results is a plan anyone can follow in his or her quest to drop body fat.

McRobert and Cailor begin with the story of Brad's experience with other approaches. You might chuckle in places and shake your head in others, but you'll get a good look at the lengths to which a determined man will go to lose surplus body fat.

The authors then break their solution into two big how-to sections. The first is centered on principles and delves into, among other things, the psychology of weight loss. This is good stuff, because one of the things they talk about is addiction to food, a phenomenon some people brush off, as though it were part of a list of excuses for not losing weight. Conversely, it's included here as part of the strategy for success.

The second how-to section is a step-by-step guide to reaching your weight-loss goal. Knowledge applied is power, and the authors give you the knowledge you need to choose the proper foods, to deal with eating out, to cook nutritious meals for yourself (in my opinion the key for most people in Western society), and the importance of general activity and specific exercise.

The book ends with a well-organized summary of what to do and how to do it, in order to lose weight.

Stuart McRobert has built a reputation for sticking with solid, well-established basics while embracing new methodologies when they show merit. He carries on that tradition in this book, and it's the reason I can recommend it so highly. Bradley Cailor's lead is worth following because he's made some mistakes, and he learned to recognize the truth. He's also a good weight-loss leader for overweight readers because of the courage it took for him to expose that learning curve, the mistakes that led to the wisdom he now demonstrates.

I can't recommend this book highly enough for the everyday man and woman who struggles with body fat levels that creep higher every year beyond young adulthood. Get this book now. Read it and apply what you learn. It will become your true way to weight-loss salvation!

As a personal trainer and fitness instructor, I can assure anyone considering buying this book that they will not be disappointed. Having read hundreds of books on this subject in the past 28 years, there is nothing that comes close to this masterpiece.

All the world's experts on weight loss have been promoting what this book teaches on how to lose weight and keep it off for decades. This book comprehensively covers what is THE ONLY WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT AND KEEP IT OFF.

I hope finally those poor millions of failed dieters read this book, follow what it teaches and stop wasting time, energy and money on quick fixes.

There only ever has been one way to lose weight and keep it off, and this book contains every aspect of the process.

A fantastic read.

This book is for those who are serious about understanding how and why a fat loss program works--not just following steps. The fat loss and training principles described here do work--and can continue to do so over the long haul--which is the best way to apply significant body composition changes. The book demands of the reader the same commitment that was put into creating it. It contains a treasury of information with no space wasted on frivolous charts and pictures, and no attention given to "popular" diets or fast-fad nonsense. Instead, the focus is on a realistic, sustainable approach to health, that entails the critical aspects of food management and impactful exercise (including strength training, in which McRobert is an expert)--all critical components that must be undertaken simultaneously.

Weight Loss Salvation: How Real People Lose Weight and Keep It Off, and How You Will Too

REVIEW OF WEIGHT LOSS SALVATION

AUTHORED BY STUART MCROBERT AND BRADLEY CAILOR

Reviewed by Al Chu

Because nearly two out of every three Americans are either obese or overweight, veteran health-and-fitness author Stuart McRobert decided to collaborate with a real-life, weight-loss success story -- Bradley Cailor -- who lost over 110 pounds of fat, and then comfortably kept it all off. Together, they have produced WEIGHT-LOSS SALVATION.

Stuart has a reputation for reaching out to the real-world audience, while keeping his writing simple, easy to follow, and trustworthy. This approach makes his latest book appealing and practical for anyone who wants to lose weight. It's not just another diet book. This one is comprehensive and truthful, and it includes the psychological and physiological factors that make people fat, and explains how to combat them using a multi-faceted approach.

Here's just a sample of what this book covers: why most diets fail; medical conditions that cause weight gain; how to deal with food addiction; how to eat to lose weight both at home and on the road; sample meals that are tasty and easy to make; how to identify weight-loss scams; the myth of celebrity health experts; the truth about exercise; which exercises are best for losing weight (and how to perform them); how to make walking burn as many calories as running; how to make it easy to maintain your healthy weight; first-hand accounts of success from Bradley and other real-life dieters; and how Stuart stays lean.

I highly recommend this book as a must-read for anyone who is serious about losing weight.

WEIGHT-LOSS SALVATION is a must read for those interested in losing weight
and keeping it off. But it is not a diet. A diet is something that is
restrictive, and short-term. Although people may lose a lot of weight while
on a diet, as soon as they go off of it and back to their old habits, the
weight comes back quickly.

The first part of WEIGHT-LOSS SALVATION gives a real-life example of someone
who struggled with weight-loss for years by following many fad diets, only
to regain the weight, but then finally followed the guidance that is in
WEIGHT-LOSS SALVATION and lost the weight for good.

Then the book discusses the psychological and physiological factors involved
in weight-loss. I found this to be one of the best parts of the books
because it made me realize why some foods are so addictive. The authors also
discuss how to watch out for scams that are misleading to customers, and why
before-and-after pictures should not be taken seriously. So called
before-and-after pictures can be taken on the SAME day by a good
photographer using a few photography tricks, and make the person concerned
appear drastically different even though no weight has been lost.

And then the book carefully explains PRECISELY what you should do to lose
weight and keep it off. By following the guidance in WEIGHT-LOSS SALVATION
you will learn how to lose weight and keep it off WITHOUT having to deprive
yourself of the foods that you love, and WITHOUT having to follow an
excessive exercise plan. The approach promoted in this book is practical,
realistic, enjoyable, and thus effective. I highly recommend it.

I have been a follower of Stuart McRobert and his books on weight training and fitness for years now. His "underground" appeal and almost cult-like following of fitness enthusiasts gives him the traction necessary to blow the lid off what is the "great sham" of the modern fitness industry. I got an advanced copy of Weight-Loss Salvation and I was at first curious about his teaming up with Bradley Cailor, a virtual unknown in the health and weight-loss industry as Stuart usually prefers to fly solo. But the result is a successful collaboration between the obscure Cailor and the iconic McRobert, as the book is simply incredible. McRobert and Cailor give a virtuoso performance by presenting down to earth facts and narrating the real life drama of how people can "really" lose weight. It also reveals the tragic scams that companies use to play on people's vulnerabilities to get them to spend money on worthless programs, supplements, and what Cailor calls "Snake Oils." Not only will the reader find out how to really lose weight, the reader will also learn why the weight-loss industry is a multi-billion dollar business. You won't find photos of models, Hollywood stars, nor other near-perfect people who never had a weight problem professing his principles or lauding the benefits of the program. This is a real-life, real-world manual on weight loss. His principles are grounded in science and spoken by someone who has been there. Cailor has been obese, and has shed the weight, but not after first trying and failing with the myriad of scams and ill-informed programs out there. Find out how he finally did it by reading the book. I myself do not have a weight problem, but as a health enthusiast and fellow published writer, I couldn't resist the pull of this book and I learned many new things myself.
