Product Description

Weight Watchers Scales by Conair

Weight Watchers Scales by Conair is bringing you a digital scale engineered to the highest precision standards. It will not only show your weight, but also do a body analysis, calculating values such as body fat and body water, which influence your weight readings. Stay in the know, whether you are losing, gaining, or maintaining your weight.

Weighing In

This Weight Watchers scale by Conair will not only monitor weight, but also do a thorough bio-impedance analysis: for each user, it will show a body fat percentage, a body water percentage, a bone mass percentage, and the user’s body mass index. Up to 10 different user profiles can be entered into the scale, but it can also be used in “guest” mode, as a simple weight scale. The jumbo 2.4 inch display shows your weight and one body analysis measurement at a time (your weight stays on the display and the other body analysis measurements scroll through). The display also features color bars to help with the interpretation of your results: a green bar means your measurement is on target; a red bar means it’s high and a yellow bar means your measurement is low.

Using Your Scale

For best accuracy, place the scale on tile or hardwood floor, rather than uneven, flexible, or soft flooring (such as carpet). In order for the scale to give you your body analysis readings, it needs to know your height, age, and gender. Once you have set yourself up as a user (for more detailed instructions, see the user manual), and you stand on the scale in bare feet (that’s important because otherwise the scale will not be able to do the bio-impedance analysis), make sure that your feet are touching the stainless steel electrodes. The scale will then give you your weight, your body fat percentage, your body water percentage, your BMI (Body mass index) and your bone mass. Monitor these over time to get a good picture of how you are progressing towards your goals.

Note:

The weight-only mode will give accurate body weight readings for all users. The body analysis mode will give accurate readings for most people, but it is not calibrated for body analysis measurements of the following groups: anyone under the age of 18 and pregnant women. WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT IF YOU HAVE A PACEMAKER OR OTHER INTERNAL MEDICAL DEVICE.

Don’t Overdo It

A surefire way to get overly concerned with your goal is to weigh yourself too often. We generally recommend that you weigh yourself no more than once a week when you’re dieting. That is the best way to prevent unnecessary concern with normal weight fluctuations, which are unrelated to your weight-loss efforts. Regardless of your weighing habits, it’s important that you’re consistent. Weigh yourself at the same time of time of day, wearing the same clothes each time and try to balance your weight evenly on the scale each time.

I have to strongly disagree with the previous review.

I bought this for $40 at Target and it's a total piece of crap. As the other reviews say, it's completely inconsistent. I've gotten on the scale and it has read 165, then 3 minutes later 167, then 3 minutes later 162. When I went to the doctor's, I weighed in at 170! This is totally not worth the money, keep looking!

I have owned this scale since November 16, 2009, for approximately 9 months. I keep meticulous records of my daily weigh-in on this scale, including both the weight that it measures, and the body fat that it reports. Over this time period, it has become clear that the scale is not in fact measuring body fat in any meaningful way whatsoever. No matter what changes have occurred in your body composition, it always reports the same body fat percentage for a given scale weight.

I began working out several times a week approximately three months prior to writing this review. During that time, my body fat has obviously and significantly dropped, as easily visible in a mirror. And yet, the scale shows the exact same body fat percentage for me that it did more than six months ago (as my actual scale weight has not changed). This morning I weighed 180.6, with a 22.7% body fat. Going back through my records, the last time I weight 180.6 was precisely 59 days ago. That day, the scale read exactly 22.7% body fat. This exercise can be repeated with any number. The body fat is not being independently measured, despite what is advertised.

Save yourself the money. If you want a measurement of your weight, buy a normal scale. If you actually want to have your body fat measured, by a scale from a company that's going to measure it independently.

This scale is extremely frustrating since I get a different reading every time I step on it. It can range up to 7 lbs difference in about 3 minutes. Totally not worth the expense.

I bought this scale as an upgrade to the inexpensive scale we had after the birth of my second child. It is completely inconsistent, fluctuating as much as 10lbs in back to back uses. I thought it was the uneven floors in our 150 year old house and actually found with a level a flat spot but it still wouldnt give accurate readings. After we moved to a new, and level, house it still hasnt EVER given the same reading twice in a row, or even 3 or 4 or 5 times in a row. Loosing baby weight is hard enough without the frustration of an inaccurate scale. I chose this one because it was endorsed by weight watchers and I had successfully lost the baby weight from my first child in that program. Im thoroughly disappointed in this product, its far too much money to spend on something that just DOESNT work correctly, this product does the weight watchers organization no service and will frustrate and demotivate any user. If I could give it no stars, I would.

I bought this scale from Target for $49($44.99 PLUS TAX) And I have used it daily to measure my bodyfat and weight. Well this scale is not consistent! Just to test the scale for accuracy I weighed myself at the same times every morning 3 times a morning. Well I was always got different readings every time I stepped on the scale. Which if you are a dieter, is very annoying! Plus the readings dont stay on very long. Ive found myself having to step on the scale at least 3 times in order to have enough time to write down my results. I wouldnt recommend this scale to anyone.

I had a different (very expensive) body fat scale, but it wasn't very reliable. If I didn't stand in the exact same spot and balance my weight exactly the same, the measurement could vary as much as 10 pounds! I finally got disgusted and bought this scale.

This scale is great (even if it doesn't give me the numbers I'd like to see, ha ha!). I experimented with it by measuring myself a bunch of times over a 15 minute period. I varied where my feet were placed, what direction I leaned, or even if I wobbled a little while it was working. It came up with the exact same measurements each time. The directions say to stand in the same position and stand still, but it's nice to know that the scale is accurate.

Verified Purchase
The scale allowed programming of the users height and age only on initial startup. This included everyone who would use the scale so if there were 10 users allowed, all 10 users had to be programmed when you first started up the scale before you even had a chance to understand how to use the scale. It was supposed to allow for reprogramming of the users by removing the batteries, but this did not work. If you don't have the person's profile in the scale, the measurements it takes are not accurate and therefore useless.

I have to agree with the other reviews. This scale can change as much as 2 lbs in 5 minutes. I have had it for a couple years and I went back to using my Wii Balance Board which is much better than this scale. If you breath, this scale will go up a lb. It is not worth it at any price.
