Very good scale..., March 26, 2005
This review is from: Weight Watchers WW70W Electronic Body Fat Scale (Health and Beauty)
I have had this scale for over a year and have never had any problems with it. Mechanically it is as good as when I purchased it.
You also can program various things into it - ie 2 users- but for the life of me I cant figure out how. The instuctions are not especially intuitive. That is why I didnt give it a 5 star rating.
If I was going to buy this scale I would shop around for price- price on this item varies quite a bit betwee dealers and I think I paid half of the non-sale price.
For me this scale was well worth it. I have found the weights consistant - they dont very if I step on the scale repeatedly unlike non-digital scales. It was a good choice for me

Excellent, reliable scale, July 9, 2006
This review is from: Weight Watchers WW70W Electronic Body Fat Scale (Health and Beauty)
I must respectfully disagree with the reviews that have slighted this scale. I purchased this scale from Sears in 2003 and it's worked perfectly since then. It has been able to measure my weight increases and decreases (not enough of those!) as well as my body fat % with very precise measurements.
I clean the metal pads every so often and step onto the scale with precision, so as to avoid flinging it around by stepping onto the corner of the unit.
The only complaint I would have would be that the unit is too light, so unless you have good balance and can step into the center of each side of the scale when you need to, it will flip over.
Also, the time that it waits in "ready mode" is fine for me, but I can see it being too short for people who have less sure footing or who are older or who are very overweight. I could imagine that the unit would "timeout" waiting for someone to step onto the scale properly, especially for the body fat measurements.
This is why I cannot give this unit 5 stars. However, since it would likely work well for anyone under 60 who does not have poor balance, I do give it four stars and recommend it for anyone else.
Overall, it is a reliable scale if you have reasonable balance and can quickly step into the correct area for performing measurements.

I got the scale yesterday and I'm very happy with the way it looks and works. For others who plan to buy, the scale doesn't work on a carpeted floor (I tried that initially then moved to a flat surface). Also try to input information quickly because if you pause for a long time, the display screen blanks out then you have to start over. (I was reading the instructions as I was going along.)
