Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Celebrating the 20 year anniversary of the release of the now classic self-titled first album, Metal Church, the band is back with a dose of new blood and hotter than ever. Spawned from the new wave of British heavy metal of the late 1970's, the band was formed by Kurdt Vanderhoof and Kirk Arrington, and now includes the talents of another guitar veteran of that era, Jay Reynolds formerly of Malice. The new lineup also includes notable Northwest talents, Ronny Munroe of Rottweiller on vocals and Steve Unger on bass. Having had several band member changes over the years, this lineup is truly the most compelling to date. Delivering the goods with their new album Weight Of The World, which has been called by critics their best in years and a return to their metal roots, Metal Church are now leveling audiences in America and Europe alike. With a no-nonsense, supercharged live show and a new album that will kick you in the teeth, this looks to be the year that Metal ! Church will garner the respect and success they've long been due.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extraordinary!, November 12, 2004
I like Metal Church a lot. Thru the years they have put out great music, but honestly nothing like this. this Cd goes shoulder to shoulder with the best albums from Savatage, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and many other pure heavy metal bands. This is one ofe the great heavy metal albums of all times. Got to listen to this one, if you like honest heavy metal you'll love this one. fantastic. Great singing, better riffs and solos, good keyboards in the background. the best!

5.0 out of 5 stars Metal Church at their best, October 2, 2004
By Adam Lambert (swanton, vt United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
First off I can't see how anybody can give this a bad review. Second I know that people have their own taste as far as singers are concerned so I can understand in one way.But in my opinion I think Ronnie munroe is better than David Wayne by far. But I would have to say I like Ronnie Monroe as well as Mike Howe.
The music on this album reminds me of the Mike Howe days and a little bit of the Masterpiece album.I think it is good fresh start for the band the new guys really compliments the music. I also think this album's song writings are better than the previous album Masterpiece. To me there seems to be more heart and energy in this album. With that being said I look forward to the future with the band and their new lineup.

4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT METAL WITH GREAT GUITAR, April 3, 2005
Having just picked this up I was wondering what I'd get. With so many personnel changes over the years it's always a crapshoot with Metal Church. Never fear gentle listener for this album rocks. The guitar of Vanderhoof is incredible and has been the consistenly great factor of all Metal Church releases. If you like no frills metal played like it matters this is one to hunt down. A better album vocally than Masterpeace it was a pleasant surprise. Go to church Y'all.
