5.0 out of 5 stars No need to be skeptical
After being diagnosed and undergoing surgery for endometriosis after years of painful periods, I thought I would finally find relief. No such luck. I was put on Seasonale to reduce the number of periods I had, but with each cycle, I still had cramps. I have been taking this product for a month now but haven't felt or seen any difference yet. I was recommended primrose because of my sudden breakouts after stopping with birth control. I've decided to give it another try for one more month and hopefully I'll experience a change for the better.

After being diagnosed and undergoing surgery for endometriosis after years of painful periods, I thought I would finally find relief. No such luck. I was put on Seasonale to reduce the number of periods I had, but with each cycle, I still had cramps. I then read that evening primrose oil could possibly aid in regulating hormones, which may reduce painful cramping. How did I not hear about this before? But wouldn't you know, it worked for me! I had my first painful period at age 13, and had frequently excrutiating pain and bloating with every one since until I discoved evening primrose oil at 39. On the occasions that I do feel cramps coming on, they are easily averted with one or two over the counter ibuproferen capsules rather than the entire bottle that I took before. I especially like Dr. Weil's capsules because they do not contain gelatin, and I have not yet found another brand that can make this claim. Thank you, Dr. Weil!

My dear wife's OB/GYN physician recommended this product to her and what a blessing it has been for her (she was experiencing pre-menopause symptoms). Before using it, she was having insomnia, restlessness, and anxiety through the night. Now she sleeps very well, wakes up refreshed, and feels so much better. Talk to your doctor first. We trust Dr. Weil and this product works!

This is a great sleeping aid. You do not get the morning time drowsy feeling you get with typical OTC medicines. If you like Melatonin, you will like this better.

1.0 out of 5 stars The oil in the caplet is rancid :(, July 29, 2010

I bought this product because of the good reviews here.
When I got the product I looked at the ingredients and it has SOYbean oil in it. Most likely from GMO soy.
It did not say that on Amazon's site.

I opened the bottle anyway, took a tablet out and chewed it. I had to spit it out it was so nasty. I don't want to put rancid oil in my body and don't know why Dr Weil would use bad oil.

I don't know if it's the soybean oil or the primrose oil that's rancid but it's bad. I had Dr. Weil's honey in the past and THAT was bad also. Guess I won't be buying any of his products ever again.
