If you love unusual cars you will love this book.Modified or just designed to look like that, doesnt matter. This book covers the lot.How about an old DC-3 plane put on a school bus chassis?Sorry, its been done.It just goes to show you what you can do to any vehicle if you got the ideas(and the money).
Tv and movie cars are also included here.Just over 300 pages of weird cars, buses, trucks, vans to mention a few.Okay,so its in b&w but its a great book.If you want ideas for your next customised vehicle you might find some in this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book!, January 5, 2000

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found the cars fascinating, and the descriptions complete. The only thing I disliked was that all of the pictures were black and white, and there were several errors in relation to car specifications. I recommend this book to anyone who likes cars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for a variety of ages, October 7, 2009

I am very pleased with this book. It is great for younger readers who want to enjoy the pictures of the history of "weird" cars. It is also a good way to engage older readers who love the memories with appropriate amounts of text. The book is not "text heavy," however, the text provided is complete enough to provide sufficient information.

John Gunnell is THE man. There is not a better writer working today in the automotive field. Weird Cars is one of John's less serious works but certainly one of his most fun. There are cars in this book that you simply will not see anywhere else. If you are looking for inspiration for your next car project, or simply love car culture, this is the book for you. I guarantee that once you open it up, you will not be able to put it down. Each turned page unveils another surprise. This is absolutely a cult classic. If you get a chance check out [...].
